Advance Battletech Information Systems or A.B.I.S.
http://ackered.com/abis/

I wanted to teach myself PHP and MySQL while the user interacts with the form using JavaScript (jQuery), so I created an online RS Builder.

It's in a testing stage.

It lacks BV calculations and Cost but, it has both 2 and 4 leg mechs and just about everything from the Tech Manual.

Tips and things to consider.
  • Changing the mechs engine rating will lose the heat sink data.
  • Moving the Front Torso Armor slider will remove the Rear Armor data.
  • Equipment is filtered by the era and chassis leg count.
  • Weapons can be dragged and dropped onto loadout locations.
  • If you change anything on the first 2 tabs (chassis and internal) it may lose all chosen equipment and equipment that is already placed onto allocation tables.

Works best on Google Chrome with Firefox and Safari a tight close second.
Mostly works on IE.
Does not function in Opera.

I did this for the love of Battletech Table Top Game and learning new things.
Enjoy.

Thanks!

Buda - Do you have an example of such a thing?

If it's simple enough I can probably add it.

Actualy, no, I don't. I'm not even a web developer. I've seen a lot of web applications that generates PDF's or JPG's from scratch (like memegenerator.net, using flash, of course) and it could be awesome (even lucrative) if your app could to.

It seems you use a lot of javascript to do it. I found this entries you might find usefull:
10 best libraries for generating PDF files
PNG generation example

It seems a lot of work, but is a great excercise to learn something new.

BTW, I'm working on a QT based battletech TT asistant with dice roller, datasheet generation/manipulation, roll calculator... with diferent levels of intervention so you can use it as a simple dice roller to a complete forever-alone campaign. I'll try to make it run android tablets/ipad :D

Regards and great job!

Cool, thanks!

I will see if I can create a nicer form. I stopped there because of the simple fact that it worked. I wanted it to have more to the print out but the HTML was easy enough.

I wanted ABIS to be IPAD friendly but something went wrong somewhere and I never took the time to figure it out. You can select the Era then nothing else works, I have been told it works on Andriod.

Good luck on your project.

I wish there was a videogame that represented a 3D representation of the TT Game, originally that is what ABIS was going to be. But we did not have enough programming skills at the time, 3D modeling and texturing skills we had.

Remlab is open source and does something similar, a look at its code might be enlightening.

Looks good, keep up the hard work. All my projects are for the sake of learning. Its always fun to create something that is useful/fun for others to try. BTW, the print out looks impressive. Well done. However, I can't scroll or move equipment around for allocation. I'm using safari and haven't tried it on other browsers. But I will and I'll get back to ya.

I decided to test http://ackered.com/abis/ out and it appears that the slider bars don't work when you try to slide them up and down.

Settings were: Succession Wars, IS, Biped, Standard, 50 tons. I left the internals alone and went to armor tab which is where I was experiencing the problems with the slider bars.

Sorry that it didn't work BFett.

Not only are the sliders not working but the drag and drop feature isnt working.

The jQuery must be acting up.

I will try to fix it tonight.

EDIT: Found the problem, will be able to upload the changes tonight.

Dude, you are the king! I just built a new 'Mech today and then I found your sheet creator and used it. Epic man!

Nice work.

You should look at my Roll20.net page. I play Classic Battletech on a virtual tabletop there and it's pretty freakin awesome.

Look up Classic Battletech under Looking for Group and you'll find me.

Nicely Done!
