The thing that isn't mentioned when people say this is that there is no MechLab (yet) in MWLL, so they don't dynamically update the mech model as someone changes that mech's loadout. They have static models for each variant.
We don't know what the mechlab (if there is one) will look like for MWO. So the need for it to be dynamic vs static variants is still unknown.
