Back during my Mechwarrior League days, my favourite kind of combat tended to be that of Solaris. For those not familiar with the BT Universe, Solaris 7 was a games world with giant Gladiator style arenas for Mechs to battle in Grand Royale style combat.

At MWL we had Solaris seasons, with leagues and ranking for each of the four weight classes plus an open league where any weight of Mech could be used. In the BT Universe there was also scope for team action, from two - eight Mechs per team.

So this is where my suggestion is leading. Is it likely that Solaris can be included within MWO as a play style. While many people will prefer the grand combat of open warfare as already implemented, adding the competitive sport of Solaris could be a really nice way for casual players to pick up a few games a week. It could include ladders for each weight class and even pre-arranged rounds for the top players in each ladder to crown a seasonal winner (if that is possible to support in MWO), alternatively just give the prizes to the players at the top of each ladder. This could involve extra credits, MC, unique Mech chassis variants etc.
