Please add in support for multiple monitors using AMD's Eyefinity and Nvidia's Surround. Simply allowing large resolutions isn't enough. Many games do that, but they spread out the UI and it makes it difficult to use multiple monitor setups.
If possible either allow the GUI to be reconfigured by the player, or set it to center on the middle display(s). Many games will put GUI objects on the top left/right and bottom left/right which doesn't work well with 3 monitor setups.
Not currenlty running on such a setup, but I'm planning on moving to one when I have the money. Do eet, please!
Monitors are getting cheaper and it's not that hard to set up a sweet multiple monitor setup. I've been running 3 24" LCD's for a while now and it's awesome and horrible at the same time. When a game is done correctly, it's paradise to have all the extra real estate and the immersion is incredible. The problem is, most games can't handle it. While many do offer the larger resolutions, your GUI ends up screwed up and you die because your health bar isn't in your direct line of sight and is tucked all the way on the bottom left corner of your left screen. It's awful and I actually have started playing many games in a window on one monitor because of this.
Simulations are perfect for multimonitor setups and Battletech would be perfect on 3 monitors showing you views out each of your cockpit windows. As long as all the HUD and important information stays on the center screen, this game would shine on multiple monitor setups.
There's legions of people with multi monitor setups on the lookout for games that do Eyefinity/Surround well and would jump on any game just because it supports their setup.
I want to be able to have the main cockpit view on my main monitor, and the local map/recon drone feed on a second.
I'd LOVE to have a dedicated screen for tactical orders. Move unit x to position YY, and mech y to position JJ and so on.. Drawn lines, and stuff.
We DO have touch screen monitors available.
I doubt triple+ monitor setups are common enough for the expense but it would be nice to see at least dual monitor support. The extra real estate has always been great for productivity. Would be nice to have the benefits applied to PC gaming as well.

If you do dual monitor support, you really have the infrastructure to do 3+ monitors without issue, too. Graphics hardware, perhaps not, but it's not a major change in the code.
My current issue is that I have no funds whatsoever. I do, however, have two computers running 3 monitors from when I did have funds, and use all three monitors pretty much continuously for multiple things. Mostly non-gaming.
Anyone who's played Supreme Commander knows just how awesome fully integrated multi-monitor support can be. Having the ability to display a tactical overlay and other commander-type information displayed on a 2nd monitor would be awesome for drop commanders.
As someone who has a rather advanced multi-display setup. I'm all for this. Whether you allow for more sim-like multi-display for those crazy enough to do mech simpits with LCD glass cockpits or something simple like just enabling standard triple-display AMD Eyefinity and NVIDIA Surround I'd be happy to see any of it. Looking at recent mech based games, Front Mission Evolved is an example of how NOT to do it. It was FOV fixed and gave me fits playing on my Eyefinity setup.
Multi-display gaming is here to stay. Both AMD and NVIDIA are currently championing it as the next cool thing. I see this title as a good chance to show off some really cool visuals if done right. Sure, multi-display a niche market, but then again so is PC gaming and enthusiast PC builders too. If you're catering to a niche might as well go all out.
For example, here is a display I did for AMD for CES 2011. I set it up in the House of Blues in Las Vegas. There are people out there that take multi-display to the next level.
The sim enthusiast in me would like to see the game have simulator aspects to it. Here is what I was up to two weeks ago. This is about as exotic as triple-display gets. A real B-52 bomber cockpit interfaced with a PC running MSFS. I played flight instructor with that thing at an air show.
If you build support into the game, I'm sure you will see some pretty interesting things done to show off multi-display tech.

I seconded for Eyefinity and Nvidia Surround or projector setups. I know BHawthorne is very experienced in this field (widescreengaming forums) and having multiscreen setups would clearly add more immersion to a game like Mechwarrior Online.

...and another dedicated to the rear view mirror. Why not? ...seriously Nvidia Surround would be great for this game.
The Eyefinity / Surround capabilities should be supported. However, I also hope that multiple monitors running in the extended desktop configuration will be made useful too. Why? Because, AFAIK so far, touchscreens still do not have their calibrations properly recognized in Eyefinity configurations.
I have 3 x 23" Touchscreens (plus a 37" TV) all connected to a 5870 Eyefinity E6 card. If I put the three touchcreens into ahn Eyefinity group, the touchscreen functions are not useable.
However, with an extended desktop configuration instead, all touchscreens function properly. So... how to make the best use of that?
Well, if the game gives us Multi-Function Display type instrumentation, and / or mouse clickable switches/*****/etc., they could be used with even more flexability if they were available in windows/panels that could be dragged to other monitors in an extended desktop arrangement. (store the locations in editable configuration files, please).
To get an idea of what can be possible, here are some videos of what has been done using touchscreens, etc. with DCS flight sims. The following utilize a 3rd party program (Helios from SCSimulations.com), but even some of that depends on the functionality that the DCS software provided (ie. exportable graphics from the MFDs, and keybinds for various controls)
Gadroc's (multi-touchscreen) DCS: BlackShark pit
CapLoz's DCS: A10C pit (three non-touch view screens plus 1 touch screen for controls and MFDs, etc.)
Realistically, I just don't imagine that our mechs are going to be anywhere as complex as the DCS aircraft sims are. Nonetheless, there is a lot of potential there for some very cool things, especially with the Information Warfare that is being brought in.
I can envision the out-the-window display being on either a single TV / Projector display, or a 3 TV / projector Eyefinity (Surround) group, with cockpit controls / indicators on extended desktop touchscreen monitors below. Perhaps with Heat management / propulsion on 1 touchscreen, weapons / Information Warfare on another, and other communications, navigation, etc. on the third.
Certainly, it won't be something that everybody utilizes to the fullest. But some of us will. And when the videos and pictures start popping up on Youtube, SimHQ, TheWayIPlay, etc... it could bring in more players.
What would be nice is an editable file included in the client that allows us the capability to direct video output to multiple video displays. Similar to this:
Display1:1 (monitor1) or (primary video1) or (projector)
Display2:2 (monitor2)
Display3:3 (monitor3)
Now, for in-cockpit displays, there are (approx) 12 console displays shown in the cockpit preview this week. One of the really nifty features currently on the market are apps that allow you to extend your PC desktop to Andriod or iOS table devices. THese talble devices come in variuos sizes ans shapes at (except for the iPad) at reasonable prices. I currently have my iPad extended from my Win7 desktop using "Airdisplay" and it works great. It the monitor configuration file noted above we're extended we "could" redirect the 12 (+\-) console displays to these extended desktop displays as follows:
Console1:(WiFi MAC Address1)
Console2:(WiFi MAC Address2)
Console3:(WiFi MAC Address3)
(etc...)
This would allow us the capability to redirect individual console display outputs to specific displays - and make them touchscreen capable to boot!
