Konnichi-Wa

Something that has stuck in my head since I've been ambling around this forum, how important the lore is to everyone. So I thought rather than batter the community with incessant questioning I'd conduct a little poll.
I am intrigued as the the overall vibe of the community. ;)

Please forgive me if there is a similar poll or thread, I couldn't find one and there are a lot of threads and i may have missed it.

Arigato. :D

Edit: Just after constructing this poll I found a thread on this very topic 3 or 4 lines down...and I trawled through 20+ pages before I got bored!
Still...MINES A POLL B)

Snow i love the cannon and all the battletech stuff from the TT (coming from some one who has never plaey a game of tabletop that might seem strange (i play allot of mega mek though)) so bending certain thigs for game mecanics to make a great game is all good. On the side of story i think they should let us move away from the set story obviously the clan invasion and the such should still happen but giving us the ability to shape the universe like how the power blocks change and what space they take and the such should all be up to the players the feeling that you make a difference and create your own story and a feeling of ownership is what makes this type of game great.

I have no issues when it comes to Game Mechanics as long as its for the good of the game, but as far as the universe, Battletech/MechWarrior is what it is. It should not change. I reeeeeealy resisted putting some stonger content here about this issue but did not as I feel strongly about Cannon and the hard work people over at Catalyst, and prior to that at FASA, (as the Jihad had it roots with people there) have put into Battletech and all of the Mechwarrioir products over the years (I would not have cursed....of course). :-)

Plus there has been plenty of rhetoric on many other threads here on topics similar to this.

To an extent, I agree with you, Adam.
It's a little easier for me to accept any changes they may have to make as the 4thSW and beginning of the Clan Invasion was my era for Battletech, Citytech and Aerotech as well as the Mechwarrior RPG.
I guess I kind of selfishly want more guns and find a lot of the 'weapon introduction' dates as the part of the canon that i wouldn't mind being changed, and I have scant attachment to subsequent era's.

If i had played campaigns in said eras, maybe my opinion would be different. ;)
