Ok, i got a little confession to make. Although MechAssault is an abomination to MechWarrior because it's sort of an arcade version of a combat sim, When it was out, i played both MA1 and 2 simply because there wasn't any other MW games available that i haven't already played like a billion times and when they were out i wasn't aware of the MWL that much.

But if there is any concept i still love about MechAssault2, it was the conquest mode. Here's a link to the intro video explaining the Conquest Mode of MA2.

I remember the term "conquest" being mentioned by the MWO devs in one of their blogs. As soon as i find the specific post again i'll put a link to it in this topic. But while i'm digging though the dev blogs finding it i was wondering it is possible to have something like this in MWO. Would it work? Since there's probably going to be no PvE element, having a conquest mode would give it a more BT feeling. It would be cool to have factions/guilds whatever the proper term for MWO will be to have to constantly conquer and keep certian worlds conquered. Is this concept what the Devs were referring to when they mentioned conquest?

I thought the idea was great in MA2 but from what i remember, MA2 was never popular enough on xbox live for conquest mode to reach its potential in that game. I tried to find people to play it with but there wasn't enough interested or online for anything to get done other than the misc multiplayer games such as destruction and CTF.

Also i heard a rumor of some kind of MW4 equivilant to MA2's conquest mode called planetary league, but i haven't heard that term in years. Is that what the planetary league was? Does it still exist? If so how can i get involved? I do have mektek's free version of MW4 mercs on my PC.
