Mission Packs as cash shop (assuming PvE is added)?

PvE *
So I was derping around when I remembered that DC online lets you buy missions
outside the main story. This got me to thinking what if MW:O did something
similar where they could sell mission packs.
These Packs could maybe range from cheap one off missions to maybe full blown
campaigns that costs a bit more. They could even do some silly stuff with some of
the missions like maybe you go out to fight some mechs/tanks/etc and find out you
got a bomb attached to your back and if you get shot in the back or take too
long you go boom or something.
Now I am NOT ok with it if paying is the only way to PvE in the game (again
assuming PvE comes). However I feel this would be something that would sell a lot
better than cosmetics and wouldn't really be P2W as say buying an atlas or
XP/money bonus.
So whats your ideas on this? Should there be cash shop missions?

<.< yea I kinda copy and paste out of word without thinking so sorry about that. And yea I know its gonna be PvP at launch but I thought it would be a good idea to spin around if/when they add PvE.

And the whole PvE matter is prolly an issue for an expansion pack to come after release anyway. Could be in the planning by PGI already though, as it could be seen as an intermediate step to developng a standalone/single-player BT/MW-based game as a "sideshow". Of course having some groundwork layed with PvE in MWO would surely facilitate development for that single.player game, so not that unlikely a scenario.

Agreed. The Devs should provide free DLC as well as offer 'special' missions that require possibly a cash shop setup.

You have the mostly free MP game with pay for cosmetic doodads and nice things and then you Have PvE co-op which could also be free and this is all relatively simple.
BUT THEN you make pay for Singleplayer Campaigns that can vary in length and scope as add-ons for people to get their story driven singleplayer fix and give them nice stories about events in BT history or made up ones. their development cost being covered and justified by the price of the content itself and the mirco-transactions from the free MP game.
They could even salvage their orignal MW3015 story and make it DLC, like GTA4's DLC episodes, which were awesome.
I'd by them.

Just to expand on this thread idea..
To buy scenarios, you have to travel to a world with a training academy (ie Somerset), and you can purchase a already published Battletech scenario pack. Example, Sorensens Sabers (published in the 80's).. Your character has purchased 'mech simulator' time at the academy and selected to train in historical training sessions.
So the battles from that book could be duplicated in MWO, then when you select scenario 1, you are limited to the mechs used in that particular battle. The sim could even suggest a mech based on what you normally use. The rest of the mega in that scenario could be filled with other players and any not filled could be bots..
Victory Conditions, special rules, pre existing damage would further add to the game. A nice training sim voice would intro you, and actual battlerom recordings of specific pilots could be played to add atmosphere and add that level of reproduction a training academy might use to instruct their students.

Agreed. Go into your Word options and turn off that blasted standardized spacing...

That would be quite cool... particularly if they had things like recreations of various battles from earlier in the timeline (to be updated as new and more awesome battles occur). I think people would enjoy getting a shot at running classic ComGuard mechs defending Tukayyid though a PvE campaign. Or play as Kerensky fighting to reclaim Terra from the Usurper... or campaigns based around the big Merc companies: a tour of the Successor States for the Dragoons, the defense of Trell I & Verthandi by the GDL, etc...
And, as you stated: there are enough BT afficianados in our ranks that we could churn out some spectacular scenarios. I always enjoyed setting up Thermopylae scenarios a la Ian Davion, seeing how many waves I could handle in tight quarters.

If they really want to sell mission packs it would be better if they were solo missions though I don't see myself paying $10 for one mission unless it was a really long one.
