I know a lot of people were complaining about how MWO has it all wrong and this isn't open beta unless there's another wipe, and it's not open beta because they're accepted money..

Just looking through the patch notes of Path of Exile which just reached open beta, and in their patch notes there's this:

Notes:
As part of the process of entering Open Beta, . . . There will never be another character or item wipe.

Path of Exile is also accepting money, and they're in Open Beta as well!

I'm sure people will still say MWO is wrong. But I guess some people just don't understand the F2P model.

Although this is intended to be a discussion about MW:O's pricing/payment scheme (or just its existence), I do have to move this thread down to Off Topic. It is a discussion about another game, and how that other game relates to MW:O.
