Created an account to note that I've been waiting for MWO for a while, but won't be spending any money on it until Track IR is supported. That's how important a feature it is to me. For others, I'm sure it's not so important. This will presumably mean I miss out on Founder's status but I can live with that. No TIR, no MWO for me.

You would be in the less then 1% of the community that cares about this feature. Sorry, but when they make games they go for helping and supporting the majority needs.

TrackIR support is low priority vs joystick. Joystick is low priority to stabilizing the game and making sure all features are ready for testing for Launch.

On a dev blog i read that Track IR was going to be ingame, you're saying now that it wont at all, or will it be at a later date? Sorry to poke this subject Paul but as a client of both MWO and TrackIR you can understand my interest.

No, what is he saying is that it's pretty much on the bottom of the to-do list. Still on the list, but after just about everything else.

I agree, TIR is a must have. While I would love to see it dropped into game now, it's probably better if it wasn't. I'd quit my job, fail to get married in October, the dog would go hungry, etc. Anxiously awaiting it's implementation though!!

I'm aware of this, and I think that's completely fair. Just stating the facts as they are.

And it's "less than 1%" not "less then"

I never post on forums but this time I think its important... TrackIR would be a great implementation to this game, I am actually not playing MWO right now because I feel naked not having it, I cant play any of my simulators with out it.

Please implement it to the game :P

Less than 1% is quite an exaggeration. A lot of gamers today go for TrackIR when they play simulataors. its considerably cheap, only 150ish $ is very affordable. Gamers spend much more money to get their video cards so every decent gamer with decent PC today has TrackIR.

Also if you've had ever tried TrackIR even for a few days you would never go back thats how good it is. TrackIR is a must have in game like this. I am telling you this as a founder ;).

Track IR is really a "fluff" feature for some few users and I can see that it doesn't need that much attention, Nevertheless as long as its not off the table that will do for me. I only have TrackIR because I play ARMA2 and at first was very skeptical, now I wouldn't want to miss it any more. Still a niche product for a niche game and there are other pressing matters that currently need to be tended to.

At least PGI has the SDK and will eventually, hopefully be able to play around with it:

It appears to have been a while since anyone posted on this thread, but as a TrackIR user I had the importance of its usefulness driven home in a MWO match recently.

I was in a Catapult C4 doing what LRM boats do when I had to step backwards and over a cliff to avoid enemy return-fire. This placed a cliff immediately in front of me and an opposing light mech had crested the ridge in front and above my Cat, but even though I could track with the torso my pilot couldn't lift his head - even though the Cat C4 has a "glass ceiling" style cockpit I couldn't look up unless I took time to ignore the mechs controls in favor of holding down the ctrl key for free look.

I use TrackIR mainly for Rise of Flight and other flight sims and since its purchase I was able to give up on using "Padlock" view etc. I find it a great asset for using the old mark one eyeball in a dogfight and it was that ability that I found myself suddenly missing as I couldn't look above or to the sides just for the simple sake of situational awareness in a close-in fight.

I understand the devs have priorities that must be met first and as someone who's been along for the ride since August I have seen MWO grow into what is increasingly becoming a masterpiece in many senses of the word. I feel with the addition of TrackIR the sense of Virtual Reality immersion will definitely add to the experience.

Cheers

0% chance of getting my money, unless you get TrackIR 5 working. Once you're done with that, you can start tweaking enhanced compatibility with Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog and Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals for butter-smooth operation.

Prefer Kinect for Windows support since I have a Kinect but not a TrackIR.
