I know that after they helped the Wolf Dragoons they added the Wolf Head to there standard, but is there a reason why it is always has an X over the Wolf Head?

No definite answer for the red X but it could be the numeral for 10, seeing as Jamie Wolf declared them to be the 10th Honorary Dragoons. Regardless, it is quite the oddity given their stellar history together.
