In the old days, when we played MechWarrior under DOS, I used a joystick for the left hand and the mouse in right to aim. That worked pretty well.

My old trusty CH Flightstick and Throttle don't work under Windows 7 64bit. Maybe I can get it running (Gameportadapter or Arduino Mega), but that will take some time.

I will try of course my wired Microsoft 360 Gamepad. With the alternative driver you get 6 axis and 13 buttons.

Alternative I will try it with a G13 gamekeyboard and my trusty G9 mouse. Maybe I bring my digital pedals (StealthSwitch III) to use.

Ancient Hewlett Packard Keyboard from 1990's

$20 logitech laser mouse from glorious 2000's

The tears of people who pay $400 for a keyboard and mouse with less functionality priceless.

I actually like the 'Pre-HP owned' E-machine keyboards...very nice 'manly' key strikes missing from so many modern keyboards.

A HoTaS set-up is perfect for MWO....as long as you put the joystick on a shelf somewhere and only use the throttle. Future-proofing for analog turning would mean adding foot pedal as well...but still no joystick unfortunately...mouse in the right hand...always. Preferrably one with a few extra buttons.
