The Startrek Online Doff System took up the majority of a season patch so it is no small thing. In STO
we send officers on assignments, they can take 1 hour or even up to 2 days. Different types of assignment
rank up a different part of the Doff system i.e. Science, Military, Recruitment. These effect our abilities
in the game or just get us better duty officers which in turn provide better buffs.
I would really like to see something similar in this game. I have no idea if we're going to have
some type of support team in terms of human only, not those who get into mechs but the team helping
to maintain them, make sense of Intel and maybe even provide an infantry role. No doubt we will have a
team of pets, our support team being required for the mechs we put them into also. The support teams ability could effect rapair rates and even the rate of which the pilots themselves heal up when injured. So
the support team would have various professions covering all aspects of our experience in the game.
If the game is going to have men on the ground even if it is just back at the base/HQ. It would be great to be
able to create a pool of say 100 ground personal who we train over the weeks we play this game.
The important thing about the STO Doff System is the ability to get XP, items, crafting materials and improve
our buffs while travelling or sitting around waiting for our guild members to join our team.
These machines need a lot of care, I know other machines can repair them but somewhere there are humans
as part of the team and a single Mech must need a big team right? So once we have a collection of say
10, the feet on the ground will also be a very large team. I'm talking fantasy, imagination here.
But can we not make it part of the game and is there any suggetions from the devs already that we have some sort of control over ground personal not just machines?
Something Like STO DOFF System
