Hmmm I choose Atlas loaded to the gills with clan tech, I love the profile of the Atlas plus if all else fails it can maul you with its fits.

dire wolf, with both an lbx ac20 and an ultra ac.20. Can take out most mechs in 1-2 hits in Mechwarrior 4

Daishi (dire wolf) all the way, i put nothing but AC's on mine, i call it my shotgun dashi, its a 1 blast kill on everything up to medium mechs and some heavy mechs too. best part it only takes two on CT to take down any assault. good times good times.

I know the Daishi is a clan omnimech. This game takes place before the clan invasion....therefore...in keeping in character, "What is a Daishi?" would have been the question one would ask if they were asked to chose which mech, the Atlas of the Daishi...i.e the Clans' Dire Wolf.

Sorry Jaguar Knight but a Daishi isn't a Kurita mech but an Omnimech favoured by Clan Wolf. It is also known as Dire Wolf as far as i know. The word "daishi" is japanease for "great death".

But if i have the choice between an Atlas and a Daishi i would prefer the Omnimech because as it is. The Omnimech matches in speed and armor the Atlas but has more firepower and it could be equipped with multiple weapon systems because of the clan tech. ^^

Even if the Atlas is a great mech i would prefer in this case the Daishi.

Now then, that said....I have to chose nether one....I would rather use a Cougar or a Shadow Cat to get behind the lumbering hulks and stay behind them as I hammer away at first one, then the other, leg. One dead assault mech, almost free of damage, for the salvaging!

For style reason : Atlas.

I don't know how Omni-Mechs will work regarding modification options. Maybe here the Daishi will be more flexible compared to the Atlas.

I like them both but I have to go with the Daishi. Why? It was used by freaking Victor Steiner-Davion to crush his enemies and bring freedom to the Inner Sphere.

Daishi, hands down. Agree that the Atlas is sluggish.

Atlas because it's so versatile, name any other Assault mech that doubles as a viable scout mech. Exactly, you can't.

It's a really tought choice, but I would have to go with the Atlas. Mainly because the Daishi has it's cockpit sticking out in the open which can make it pretty easy to hit.

Ha! No contest, the Clan's OP mech design is a hands down winner. The pilot would have to be one hell of a veteran to turn a Daishi's firepower away and make that a win. Mad Cat or Timberwolf, it's just plain Awesome Sauce in a Can!
