Depends on whether you like skulls or 3-5 gauss rifles more.

atlas can do 3-4 gauss rifles. it can also mount much more armor than the daishi can. (hardened armor is not available on omnis)

Hmm.. Neither!

Even though it'll never exist in MWO, my vote for 100 ton assault goes with the Fafnir.

Thor's Hammer, nuff said.

I'll go with the Annihilator C2, or more appropriately the custom variant designed off it, the Gausszilla. 5x Gaussrifles, 75 points of damage on one alpha.

On a more serious note, Atlas. Such a classic balance of protection and firepower and, if it's upgraded with clan weapons, should easily be able to wreck just about anything.

What is this fabled Daishi? is it a blender? a set of steak knives? Never heard of such a mech. Must be a part of those crazy stories of fanatics beyond the outer worlds. I say they are just pirate attacks. we are plenty safe from those guys here.

Daishi always was my favorite mech but since MW3 but when i saw the MWO atlas model it became a favorite too(in MW4 it looked like ****). I'll have to see the new daishi model to judge.

Dire Wolf: 3 Gauss, 1 Light Gauss, 1 Large Laser. (I think.. its been a decade or so.)

Edit: yea, that is what I used because the Light Gause and the Large Laser had very similar rates of fire which is what made it so effective. As long as you hit the first alpha strike they were done for.

Fundamentally the Atlas has alot of history and spirit behind it while the Dire Wolf is a lumbering pile of death, many of its variants have more firepower in one arm than the atlas(stock) has entirely. But the beauty of battletech isnt in the min/maxing its playing what you enjoy, if I wanted to worry about using the best kit and best weaponry with the best tactics you would go play CoD and be another d*ck in the dirt.

The best: Stone Rhino aka Behemoth, second the daishi, third the marauder II, fourth the atlas. But i think they will show us a daishi first and than say: oh, they like the daishi, ok, they will get the imp!

DireWolf was my favourite mech in MW2 so i'll continue with it when it comes out. no matter if its nerfed to unplayable or overpowered like god.

I'll take a AKU-1XJ over either (Though the akuma is based off the Atlas)
