So one thing I hoping for in sound design in being able to hear when weapons are ready to fire instead of having to look at the UI.
For example a laser firing
Trigger>Laser firing sound>charging sound(increasing pitch capacitor whine?)>Ready sound(clunk like a heavy duty relay being thrown over)
Or maybe an autocannon
Trigger>regular firing sound until magazine empty>loading magzine (perhaps some motor whine with clicking for each round being fed into the local magazine?> ready a louder chu-chunk kind of like a slide being racked?
Just a thought. It'd be nice to be able for an experienced pilot to know when each weapon was ready by ear.

wonder if an audible cue like this would be valid for Heat as well..... like a low hiss starting as you go into the red slowly building to a high pitched whine as you approach shut down? (Even if not, still like the idea for reloading and ready sound cues)

I don't like that idea; I love it.
Audio is the other half of the experience, and I hope they don't skimp on them.
When I fire my LRMs, I want to see them pour out of my pods and leave trails of smoke in the air with a loud screech as they fly off to track their target. Then, aside from looking at the weapon status being "reloading", I want to hear the loading gears and mechanics of the Mech kick in as ammo is being loaded for subsequent salvos.
With experience, I could, in time, know when my LRMs are ready, just by the time it takes to coincide with audible cues.
Also, how cool would it be if you heard a unique sound if/when the ammo-loading jammed?

Jam and heat sounds would be cool too. I would assume heat could be done with a warning beep that increases in volume and frequency as it heats up. Maybe you could have the mech making more creaking and groaning noises as it moves under high heat.
I'd like lasers to be more a low sub-sonic hum than pew pew.
Autocannons should sound like canons rather than small arms
Missile should howl going off, not Ssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

The tones/sounds chosen need to be easily differentiated though, even by those who have some hearing loss. Due to old age, too much rock music and firing guns without ear protection

Bring the noise. lots of nice reloading sounds (even a computer "bing" when the weapon is ready to fire might be useful on top of the nice reloady noises).
more audio-more texture-more immersion.

Based on the canon from the books as far as I understand the helmet you wearing you can't hear anything cept the computer noises and things hitting you mech (loud things) Its like jet fighter helmets they are designed to keep outside noise down so the pilot can hear orders otherwise he would only hear the jet noise and sound of the air hitting the jet. So it based on that you would only hear computer notifications (a click or tone to let you know ammo has refilled) and impact noises of things shooting you.

Maybe. But that's not nearly as cool.

Do not get me wrong tho I want them there (I like the old games how each weapon type made a different noise that they were ready to fire) I just want to have a AMAZING computer voice first

LOVE IT +1
I'm looking forward to if/when they talk about the audio engineering thay've done on MWO (Or perhaps some sound bites!)
Great audio is definitely half of a great game, and a Sim like MWO is no different. There has already been discussions on the "cockpit voice", and we hope that sounds great, but I would love to see they've included audio cues with weapon recycling.
