In my limited time of perusing these forums ive seen many mechs offered up for consideration by the fans here.
I've been thinking that I'd like to see the Hatchetman introduced. Beyond the hatchet it carries that we unfortunately wouldn't be able to use it has an AC 10, two medium lasers and jump jets.
It was initially a Lyran design that the Fed Suns adopted and it saw some good use packing a good punch and being fairly mobile for a heavier med.
I'm sure it wouldn't make the first spread or two of additions, but would like to pilot one in game eventually.

It would be pretty worthless if you had to introduce it without a functioning Hatchet.
We don't have a good jump-jet-equipped Medium yet, but hopefully one is added soon.

Lots of variants though through most houses.
Kuritans get the hatchet changed to a sword in the 5k version.
A couple variants drop the hatchet for different loadouts and more armor. One even gets a PPC
Seems to me that with all the variants this could be a good medium brawler.

It would be def. fun to pilot the Hatchetman, Axeman ect.
I´m hope these mechs get into this game, and close combat too...

Right now, it would be a stripped Centurion. we must wait until/if they introduce melee and then we can think of adding this him.

No melee is incorporated as far as i know..so the Hatchet man is pretty much scrap metal on the Battle field

I don't see why they wouldn't be able to incorporate the hatchet into the mech's weaponry. I have had plenty of fights where I get close enough to literally make contact with the opposing mech. Additionally, this kind of thing would encourage most people keep fighting at a range kind of like the knife in call of duty.

Oh yes. Would love this added at some point in the future. One of my favorite painted figures was a forest camo Hatchet man I did.

I'm not so sure about scrap metal. It has about 8 variants listed with several one off custom ones
A few varients do without the hatchet for more armor and weaponry. It also has ballistic hardpoints and at least one varient mounts MRM's.
It's not overly fast, but it's jump jets help make it nimble.

Im on the fence about melee, I mean, with the hatchetman I could get it, but when an atlas punches me in the cockpit, Imma get mad. Mechwarriors whole appeal to me was it seemed more planted in reality then things like gundam, or something like that where you could punch people with a giant robot. I think I heard they do use melee like that in the books, but I just never liked the idea.
