I swear I had a post on this already, but it is not in my 'Topics Started' page, so I must assume it was lost in the Great Purge.

That said, I design paper models. Sometime last year I said to myself, why is there such an odd disparity between the 'Mech scale (1:285) and the Map scale (1:1000)? Buildings, roads, etc., to 'scale' look really daft next to the monstrous mech's that are 'stock' miniatures. To represent a good battle in miniature scale would require a massive table to effectively represent what was on a standard 16x17 hex board.

And so I set about modeling some of my own. The first few attempts were... bad I will admit. Poor reference images, and generally really odd geometries lead me to failure. However, I stumbled upon the now freely released MechCommander 2, and was able, to my glee, extract the models. While they were not perfect, they provided a nice, prescaled set of models with which to work. The textures were terrible, so after remodeling I also recreated textures for all of the ones done.

And so, this set was born. It is small, confined thus far to 5 Mech's: Atlas, Catapult, Urbanmech, Mad Dog and Timberwolf. I have a nice set of images below in the 'spoilers' section. Beware, there are quite a few. A word of note; I did not design the Marauder shown in a few of the shots, although it was scaled quite a bit down from its initial 1:40 scale.

Coincidentally, I have a slowly growing set of 1:1000 scale terrain elements to compliment it, a thread for which already exists: http://mwomercs.com/...569#entry799569

All of these are available for download here (link is also in my signature): http://tcfgaming.com

Enjoy,
Tirick
