The locust is just small and fast basic tech and hard to hit
the hussar is really fast small profile and packs a punch
the Spector has it all but is lost to all the Raven Phan boys

Scouting: the Spider since the Tarantula isn't out. Specter would be my favorite, but wasn't around in large enough numbers.

Combat: Panther and latter the Jackal, yes I like the damage of the PPC and they can take a punch. The really fast lights don't even take medium laser hits well.

Clan
Scouting: Mist Lynx (Koeshi)

Combat: Adder (Puma) until the Solitaire comes out. The Solitaire is just so mean in combat.

The Ice Ferret is a 40 ton clan mech, not a light mech

The Koeshi (Mist Lynx) is not the Dasher (Fire Moth) They are the IS names for two different clan light omnimechs.

On the Clan side, the Fire Falcon & some Locust-IICs are pretty tasty.
