God they're so cheap in the U.S.! I have a pretty crap Toshiba Sat. Laptop (i5 quadcore@ 2.33, NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M, 8 Gig RAM) and that cost over $1000 new... can't believe how cheap it is to get stuff in the US... and the Australian doller is higher then the Greenback damnit!

You'll hate Canada even more, same cheap prices, but our currency also currently stronger than the greenback.

OP: You might want to hold out for Christmas/Boxing Day. Plenty of sales, and in 4 months a few items are probably going to drop in value. Even if not, sales and 4 months of extra saves should definitely get you what you want.

I'd suggest strongly against getting a system that's only getting around Minimum settings, lag/slow processing/choppy images are likely to see you dying and ruining your gaming experience (or your settings will be so low that the game will look like a PoS). Get a decent CPU/GPU and (at least) 8GB of ram and you should be golden.

I am thinking that I may just hold out and wait.

On another note though, how will this do?

Nowhere close to as well to the HP recommended earlier with an Xfire solution and the A8 quad core.

But it is a quad core, and it is less than 500 dollars. I just want to know if it will run the game smoothly on a lowered graphics setting.

But the GPU in it, is pretty cack, so no it wont run smoothly you need a balance between CPU and GPU its hard to accomplish in laptops as Vulp has already said the HP recommended earlier is far better.
