Just a shout out to the Devs/Forum Mods/Anyone involved in the community for all the work they're doing with this game and for providing a forum with a quality atmosphere where passionate fans of the BT universe and new comers who just enjoy a robot blam blam fest can come together and intelligently (I hope) discuss the development of this game.

I hope this is the right forum for this conversation, it's not really a suggestion so I didn't want to throw it in there.

Now, onto what topic I actually wanted to discuss, the different games modes and the kind of lobbies/matchmaking you guys would like to see! I personally want to see as far as team death matches are concerned two different modes, Blind pick and Draft (can anyone tell that I play LoL in my spare time?).

First off, lobby and match making would be calculated using a few player stats, first of all would be your pilot level, next would be the value of your most expensive mech situated in your mech bay, the value would include the monetary value of the mech AND the experience level of the mech itself, and after that would take into account your performance, i.e Kill : Death ratio (but hopefully nothing quite as simple and misleading as that.)

Secondly the game modes..

Blind pick mode is exactly that, your game lobby brings up your team list and everyone in the team picks the mech that they want to pilot for that encounter, you can see the choices of your team mates so you can compliment their selection with your own and make up for any deficiencies but you can't view the opposite teams pick.

However with draft you have a set tonnage limit for each team and can view the opposing teams choices, each team takes turns as they pick the mechs (maybe two/three pilots at a time) they wish to pilot for the engagement until all pilots have chosen their mechs. This would make the initial game lobby planning more of a thinking mans game as you would be trying to counter the opposing teams strengths and capitalising on their weaknesses and would HOPEFULLY prevent the LOL 20 ATLAS TEAM LOL!!1!! that might ensue if people were to pick without any knowledge of the over all teams composition.

The pilots themselves would have 3 (?) Mech bays of already configured mechs for them to choose from so they could adapt to what ever situation arises. With the option of purchasing more mech bays later in game.

Also before pilots enter a game lobby/enter into a match making service of types they would nominate themselves for the option of being team commander, from there the matchmaking service would generate some random number wizardry and pick a team commander who could either lead the team, or relinquish his command to someone else, prompting another random number generation and another team commander being chosen.

That's just how I kinda hope things pan out. Anyone else got any visions of how they want the game modes / lobby to work ?
