Searched around a little bit for something like this, but thought I'd share...
Since being in the sandbox, I've ordered some toys for when i get home (hotas, pedals, 3 button foot-switch, and a couple others) to play around with on MW:O, X-Plane, and a couple other flight sims i have.
Anyways, I have seen a couple of chair-rigs floating around here, and initially I was goingto just mount a couple of pads onto an office chair's arm-rests to hold my throttle and stick. I eventually ordered a rumble-box for the bottom of the seat, and I have been doodling with some ideas on how to make the chair as close to one-piece as possible.. for easy moving, setup, and minimal wires coming from the chair itself other than power and TV-Connection.
All that being said, I stumbled across a couple of PVC rigs (both on here and across google), which eventually lead me to this: www.rogerdoger.net
Some of his stuff dates back to 2007, and I don't really want to spend money on something I can literally do myself, and probably modify to suit my own needs(or spend money for a webpage not maintained or anything, or worse no one to send my product after getting my money). BUT his keyboard idea got me thinking. I have in the past made small labels for buttons, but modifying, removing buttons, and making a makeshift MF Panel hadn't occurred to me. I had a junk keyboard laying around, some super glue and tape which lead to to my initial test, which is going pretty well with MW:Mercs
It required running 2 keyboards. I'm going to make one more based off a flight MF-Panel for X-Plane, and once I get to play MW:O, depending on some of the controls, I'm going to tweak, modify and change button layouts, because as of now, I don't know what all the available commands are, and I don't know which i'm going to prefer on my throttle or sticks. I also play MW2 sometimes, and I made the self destruct require 3 keys pressed at once to avoid fat fingering.
I'm going to make a small "pod" when i get home for flight and mechs, and the 3 pedal i mentioned above i might just mount next to me, and make them "punch buttons" or something If i cant figure anything else out.
anyone else do anything like this?

I would love to have a nice cockpit rig.. but I am too lazy to build one and I am too poor to buy one (and I have a decent job).. so I tend to stick with the big-tv / mouse / keyboard combo..
Also, I assume by "Since being in the sandbox" you mean that you have served (or are still serving) in our nation's military, and if so, I would like to offer my humble thanks for your service!

Yep, Its a pleasure. been at it for over 7 years, since highschool.
I'm over here for a little bit longer, then home and back to my family and toys.
I'm gonna make mine out of wood scraps i have and PVC, don't want to break the bank on it.
