Pweeeease?!
I'll even go on the Bulls side to help balance things out.
And I promise, I'm quiet, I don't bark at random noises, I'm great with kids, I am a huge cuddler, and I don't pull on the leash when you take me for walkies.
You could say that I'm...
*Puts on sunglasses*
House-trained.
YEEEEAAAAAAAA

**** I'm going to teach him how to fetch me beer from the fridge. :)

We're kinda like Mojoi's... We don't like bright light, don't get us wet, and never, ever, feed us after midnight.

I have set the stage for the jump. You can all post your jump preparations etc if you'd like, otherwise I'm going to GM the jump into the system and the initial situation. I'll make the jump regardless either friday or saturday night. Sorry I've been away for so long but I want to get into the action. We've let the tension build and now everyone has an idea of their characters. It's time to rock and roll.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait a second.
Oni, the SLDF doesn't have a battleship o.O
It'd also be a flagship if it was, you don't send your flagship in with your side mission!
Side note, the Avatar is actually a heavy cruiser, rather than a battlecruiser. The latter is the firepower of a battleship on a slightly smaller, faster and less heavily armoured vessel, and an Avatar ain't quite there :P

Who says we don't have a battleship? Where's that damn Tauran spy [looks directly at the Admiral] I bet he's right here right now relaying all our movements and plans to those blasted Bulls and why is it every time we get a communique the Bulls seem to receive one as well? Oh crap THAT'S IT! God IS the SPY!!! [pulls side arm takes aim at the screen and Nomad falls over with a slight head-wound] There we go that fixes that little spy problem now doesn't it? Now where were we ah yes,
"Oh I'm afraid the shield generator, will be quite operational." :P

Also Also note; in World War Two towards the end when we really started using joint task forces the Flag would be carried by carriers rather than the slower and usually more targeted higher prized Battleships. This was in consideration to the speed of carriers and their increasing role as the quarterbacks of the sea.

*Uncomfortably shifts weight in the awkward silence*

EDIT: Agreed, but in BT, they seem to still use the battleships as carriers are much less common, and usually much, much smaller. Best I can tell, usually carriers are dropships. Aerospace fighters seem to be less important in BT naval warfare than they are in real life - or they're used to screen vs bombers and dropships.

"Good Good.....Your information is impressive.. now strike the other GMs down and your training will be complete" :P

EDIT: <<< character just realized that he's a creation of someone currently running a game as well. Whoopsie :P
[please see the first 2 episodes of "Excel Saga" on Net Flix for a perfect example of this conundrum. ]

Walks in, sees the commotion, ducks as gunfire goes around.

"Wrong room!"

Shuts and barricades the door, turning to everyone else.

"THERE'S A MADMAN IN THERE WITH A GUN!!"
\IC
Rogue is correct on that matter, as apparently in BT, and other series that I have seen, they make the biggest ship in the fleet the flagship, probably due to the fact it has the most firepower, which is why carriers in most respects are underscored here.

In most cases it's because battleships are more iconic and exciting. Plus, in space, you can mount much more guns and armour without worrying about being able to float. And the guns can be much, much bigger. Battleships had reached the point at which they were underarmoured for the weaponry being fired upon them, and too slow to avoid the incoming fire, essentially becoming vulnerable. Because they would be targetted immediately, being large, unmaneouverable and not proof against incoming fire, they could be sunk. So the commanders began relocating the flag to a carrier or cruiser instead. One British lunatic, I believe, stuck his flag on a destroyer - and then rammed subs with it. Despite being part of a fleet with two battlecruisers. But I'm not sure if that happened or I'm becoming confused with the story I was reading that prompted me to go on a wikiwalk through all things naval. Still, British, and we are bloody nutjobs so it's entirely possible...

I'm going to write up the jump in post tonight. From there people are free to pilot their craft within reason. People who indicated you wanted to participate, but haven't been around recently - I hope you are ok with you ships being NPCed once in a while. No guarantees you'll come back with a pristine ship.

Also - anyone wishing to come in once the battle is joined: I won't be allowing additional ships to jump in. I don't want another "Windbourne Raven" situation with entire fleets popping out of nowhere. Additional players are always welcome, but you'll have to take over an NPC ship/ASF/or Marine. Just fair warning.
