Mayhaps, I am rather busy of late and running an entire ship seems on reflection rather daunting. (I have seen how much work fleshing out just an infantry company is this week.) :P

Is there anyone that needs or wants some sort of secondary character? (Someone to add some flavor but not a huge role where I have to figure out how to run an entire ship...)

Your welcome to take over a fighter squadron or wing for that matter on the Basel if you like, not like i don't have enough to go around as is. :)

Sorry for posting the Dixie's engines going out, Nomad told me it's reactor would be knocked out so I decided to link that into my post and let him handle the rest of the damage ;)

There's so much going on in the campaign it's kind of hard to follow, especially with me playing a marine...

So here's the scoop. TF21 (Col. Nighthawk and Myself) are at the Zenith jump point of the star. They went right.

13th Fleet (everyone else including you) is going left to fight the Taurian 3rd fleet.

Roguespear jumped into the zenith point to attack Col. Nighthawk.

I'm working some things out and then I'm going to initiate contact between the two main fleets so all you marines have stuff to do haha. Keep an eye out!

Hey guys, I want to apologize for the lack of awesome on my behalf. Real life has gotten rather busy and my time to write has been cut down dramatically, on top of that i've found that writing naval stuff is really really challenging for me, so as much as i enjoy this RP (by far one of my top favorites to read.) I don't think i can continue playing in it

Again, sorry everyone (espcially Nomad).

Boo! I, RogueSpear son of My Dad, have full faith in you Gamma. I've found watching one of these videos:

For raw combat:

For some combat and IC RP:

And playing a round or two of Star Wars: Empire at War (Space battles in Galactic Conquest mode specifically) or Sins of a Solar Empire get me in the mood for RPing in this thread. Those scenes give me the idea of how my units should be moving (Star Furies rotating to shoot at an angle to their movement vector in particular) and EaW/Sins gets me into the tactical mindframe of 'Where are my ships, where are his, what do I have, what does he have, given those facts, where should I send my fighters/frigates/capitals/etc' and really makes the writing flow a lot easier.
It would genuinely suck to see you drop man, us Taurians only have three players! AND ONE OF THEM IS A DOUBLE AGENT/GM! THE CONCORDAT NEEDS YOU SER!

The vids are only a couple of minutes long, and I feel your pain on the time cramp front, but try watching them pretty please and see if it helps? This isn't Steel and Snow, you don't need to post every day after all :)

Disclaimer: You also do not have to post daily in Steel and Snow, just you know, semiregularly would be very nice.

I still plan to post in the other threads I'm involved in. Solaris/Steel and Snow/Oni's Fuster Cluck = P. I just don't think i can balance all of them and life.

I'm not saying it was a good plan.

Ok ladies and gentlemen,

I'm writing up the post now that gets the two fleets into contact with one another. In the interests of allowing the two combats to happen simultaneously, and allowing for the 8 hour intercept time between the two main fleets, here is my plan.

Rogue and I are battling it out right now - around 0629 hours. This is shortly after we jumped in. The fleets need 8 more hours to meet head to head. Therefore, I am going to time jump the two fleets together (essentially jumping the timeline ahead for all of you) so that we can all battle, and leaving rogue and I "in the past". The two battles will be out of sensor range so we don't have to worry about discussing what happens to Rogue and I (as it will have occurred in the past).

Thats a really long and complicated way of saying ignore what Rogue and I do in terms of RPing, pay attention to time stamps, and enjoy your half of the battle. I apologize if I take a while to respond to some things as, with Gammadin gone, I'm responsible for the entire Taurian fleet as of this moment. You marines will likely be RPing your actions entirely, although I might pop in once and a while to add some spice.

To all other prospective players looking in - we've lost a great number of the people who volunteered in the beginning, so anyone who wants to join please send me a PM and we can talk about it.

I'd appreciate it Rogue. I just didn't want to burden you more than commanding eight ships already haha.

Additionally a story update. The transitory post has been made. The time stamp is 1400 hours. The enemy ships are about 10-15 minutes out. That gives you time to get one last fluff post in before getting to the thick of it. Forming up fighter wings, assigning targets, prepping marines, captains giving orders etc. Once the ten minutes is crossed, both fleets will be within MAXIMUM firing range. That means shooting solutions are going to be sketchy and most shots will miss - however - you are going to be fired upon.

Sorry again it took so long everyone!

Just slap some ships my way, I'll follow your orders ;)
My eight corvettes are actually pretty simple to RP, 'cos I'm doing it from Burroughs' bridge and simply taking note of where they are, which helps keep things manageable. You might want to group units by 'squadrons' and see if that helps you handle things easier :)

EDIT: The Thach Weave: http://en.wikipedia....iki/Thach_Weave
The Kulbit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kulbit

The first maneouvre is designed to catch any aerospace fighters/dropships that try to engage Powerful's pairs, as well confuse gunners firing on them.
The Kulbit is being used as an attack on the Savannah, firing nose, fore angle, broadside, aft angle, aft, second aft, second broadside, second fore angle and finally nose batteries again, while attempting to dodge incoming fire (By rolling the ship and the curved turn) while keeping a steady stream of fire on the Savannah's soon-to-be damage side.

Sorry for repeatedly using air dogfighting tactics, but I couldn't find much on space fighting tactics, and most of my machinations result in my ships crashing xD

Dive bombing destroyers, do you dastardly Taurans, know no shame?

P.S. working on my post, this may take a bit as having to work as well. Will get it up by 8 or 9 CST, hopefully
