I was wondering last night how many Battlemechs would be available at launch. If they did just 1 mech for each weight (20,25,30...etc up to 100 ton) thats 17 I think, but I couldn't really see them only have 1 of each weight, especially at 100 tons, which would be the Atlas. If they did two of each, then it would be around 34 at launch plus whatever gets added in later, and I think that would be more than acceptable.

Of course, the more mechs the better has always been my feeling ;)

So what do you guys think? Is there a certain number that should be hit, and would have only 1 of some weights be okay?

12-16 would be fine by me(3-4 per class) at launch. WIth the addition of one to two mechs a month thereafter. League of Legends has done this and I do not see why it cannot be done here.

I recommend this thread, it's already 4 pages long and also on the front page. ;)

I want at least as many as I can count on one hand. So 31.

He said 'one hand'. 2^5 -1 = 31.

Now if he'd said 'both hands', then yes, you'd be correct.

Oh thanks communitymaster, I did not see that. 12 seems a bit low as most are predicting, but I understand why they would.

Its hard not to be greedy ;)

Oh, and if they put out mech packs like the previous titles for dlc, adding in, say, another 4-8 at a time, that would be groovy.

Was really confused by this at first, 'til Ian's comment straightened me out. Try counting in binary 11111 - would've made more sense to me (or using 1023 to 1111111111).

Reminds me of "There are 11 kinds of mathematicians, those that can count in binary and those that can't" and it's variations.

There will be twice as many as half of the Mechs they're going to release.

Mark my words.

Not in the unlikely event that they'll release zero. Then only L'Hopital will know if it's twice or not ;)

As long as I'm not dividing by 0, I think I'll be OK. ;)

Well in the book it was "What is the answer to life, the universe and everything" from what I remember. Not that anyone understood it. Supposedly it came from the number of pips on a pair of dice. 'Cause life is a crap shoot. Though that was from an interview.
