Wasp LAM:
Fighter mode
Airmech mode
Mech mode
Stinger LAM:
Fighter mode
Airmech mode
Mech mode
these is the new artwork used in Technical readout 3085, which introduced the first generation model land air mechs used by the terran Hegemony's Royal regiments. the same TRO added updated rules for LAM use, removing the problematic rules and adding new ones that make them balanced.

LOL I TRANSFORM AND SHOOT YOU WHILE FLYING AROUND
Aerospace fighters?
LOL I TRANSFORM AND HIDE IN THE CITY WHILE SHOOTING YOU WITH... my medium laser.
If they were built right and had Clantech like the Wobbies did, they could be useful when used correctly. But MWO is a mech only sim for the moment, so no go on them. Oh well.

Aha, and i'll detroy your planet with Deatstar, while selling your soul to Cthulhu.
Dude, this is universe about mech, not about freacking transformers.
Besides, anythinh beyond 3067 isnt realy about BT.

Get your facts straight. Stingers were ACTIVELY BEING MADE UP TO 3050!
"In 2680, the Star League requested designers to develop 'Mechs which could fly as well as function as standard 'Mechs. LexaTech responded in 2688 with the first Land-Air 'Mech, the Stinger LAM, based on the old Stinger design.
Never produced in large numbers, there were still many in service during the Succession Wars due in part because the LexaTech facility on the Draconis Combine world of Irece, the last intact LAM factory in the Inner Sphere. LexaTech was able to construct new Stinger LAMs as well as new parts. The loss of the factory to the forces of Clan Nova Cat in 3050 during the Clan Invasion sounded the death knell for the Land Air 'Mech as a viable combat unit."

Hmm, let's see. No Deathstar in BTech, no Cthulhu but there's LAMs. They're a part of the canon, deal with it.
I'd love to see them come back, but I also realize that implementing them would take some serious code work so I'll be happy with what I've got, but seriously people, LAMs are part of the game. You may not like it, but you don't have too.

Ok, lets see. FASA nether published anything beyond 3067. So deal with it, LAMs as much part of BT as Deathstar and Cthulhu.

Jade Falcon also had a test facility and where experimenting with the LAM Designs.
Later i think the falcons had an elemental with flight capabilities.
More toys to play with keeps the game going , w/o it could get old

Most of the original game is a blatant ripoff of macross.
It would be nice to see the support vehicles making showings and have significant roles, including the aerospace aspect. If the aerospace aspect is included, I see no reason to exclude LAM as they are good transitional combat scouts. Support units to be used in tandem with others, opposed to being the main battle unit as seen in macross.

While disagree in that, in order for Battledroids to get on it's feet, it was a great idea to license artwork from a Japanese company (Believe it or not, Battledroids hit the shelves before Robotech went on the air in the US. 1984 vs 1985.), as it gave the franchise giant robot artwork that you would never find anyone that could draw sans a multi-million dollar hollywood budget. Even two years later, when they made their first in-house 'mechs, though they look silly to us now, they were groundbreaking for the time, and more than competitive with even what Games Workshop was churning out - to the point that Games Workshop actually copied Battletech miniatures, at a point.
The problem I saw, was that they used those unseen like a crutch. Even when I heard about the Marauder popping up in the 2009 Mechwarrior Preview, I was gritting my teeth thinking - "Harmony gold is going to chew us out if the mechwarrior guys didn't expressly bring HG to the table to negotiate". No surprise that they didn't, and HG caused a kerfuffle that made every publisher not want to touch the franchise with a ten-foot lawsuit-proofed pole.
The unseen are a crutch that I feel that the franchise, after 15 years of being without, looked very much like they were strong enough to walk on their own, but the minute that they thought they had access to them, started cheering over stuff few people under the age of 25 would have even cared about.
The unseen were fun, but I'd rather not risk it and just move on. The stuff from Victor Musical Industries are fine, because they made them FOR BATTLETECH, but I'll live through the night if my sourcebooks don't include pictures of an Archer.
