Not a particularly important post, but I'm just getting a bit hyped about possibly getting a new desktop today after 6 years!

Bring it on!

*hype over. Carry on folks*

I was on the fence about buying into this game, but I jumped all in and bought it, had to build a whole new computer as well because my old one is six years old. Going with a i5-3570k and AMD radeon 7950 x2, with all the trimmings. I'm so pumped, just waiting on the case to get here in the mail so I can put it all together.

if youre buying a new comp theres no reason not to meet the recomended specs.

Honestly if you just meet the minimum specs youll need a new computer the day you buy the new computer

Woot! I'm in the same boat! In just a couple of days I'll have the money to put together a new computer. It will be my first new desktop in 10 freaking years!!!!! I'm so stoked for the both of us. I'll have about $750 to throw down and I'm going to order all the parts and put it together with my friend. This will be the first computer that I've made myself, and I can't tell you how excited I am.

Best of luck to you my good sir!

Tellyou what, just getting an actual computer and keyboard will be better than typing posts with my tiddly smart-phone keys...

Too many full stops get pushed.

Cheers guys, I hope to drop in on some Betas this week (newborn baby attention aside!)

I signed up and tried to get things going with my 8800 GTS (top of the range when I bought it but just didn't work with MWO) In fact I got an error saying that it was not a supported card.

Never fear I ran to the computer store and got a hot deal on a GTX 550Ti and I am pleased to say the game runs brilliantly.

Spec is i3 4GB 550ti 1TB HDD.

It's all the GPU these days...

Not really its a even balance of CPU and GPU these days IMO. Most Dual cores get maxxed out on modern games days so buying a new video card will change nothing if you have anything under what you have.

btw how much did you pick up the 550ti for? $110?

Well my rig is primarily:

Intel Core i5 - 2500
Nvidia GTX560Ti
8GB DDR3

All bolted to a generic 22" 1080P display and it runs everything I play sweet as a nut. I do mean everything as well. With the notable exception of Anno 2070, which it struggles with but I have got bonkers levels of post-processing running so whatever and 40fps isn't too much to complain about.

For reals? This should have instead been posted in the hardware threads.

really, people do NOT read through things to find appropriate threads/forum areas before posting

I could come up with a witty retort, something the reading of which would cause the heavens to part, the finger of the almighty himself to appear and descend towards you. Finally, when even the smallest of birds and yappiest of dogs is silent a might vice like the rolling of thunder would intone "You got told". But you opened the post with "For reals?" so like ya know wotevar.

I'm high, so I do dumb things. What's your excuse for being an *******?

I think you might find that I was just stating my hype at finally getting the chance to play the Beta...

Frankly, tech specs are beyond by Pentium II building years.

But alas, I STILL haven't played...

2 weddings and my fabulous baby daughter being born have delayed things somewhat!!!

I'm upgrading my 6 year old computer in two weeks. I'm aiming to beat the recommended specs by a margin. Good luck with yours! :P
