Those of you that have been checking out the free BT calender will know that today is the 610th anniversary (or the 427th pre-anniversary if you prefer) of the first battlemech combat test.

On February 5th 2439 near Yakima in North America Colonel Charles Kincaid of the Terran Hegemony piloted a Mackie armed with 2 PPC and an autocannon against four Merkava tanks in the successful trial.
