Poll: Weapon Convergence Speed (57 member(s) have cast votes)

My "weapon convergence speed" should be faster than the next pilot because:

  1. A: I can keep my target tracked in my sights better than the next pilot. (2 votes [3.51%] - View)

  2. B: I traded other equipment tonnage in a mech lab for better actuators, and the other pilot didn't. (6 votes [10.53%] - View)

    Percentage of vote: 10.53%

  3. C: I've have more time piloting this mech than the other pilot does theirs, so I should have a perk. (3 votes [5.26%] - View)

    Percentage of vote: 5.26%

  4. A & B (9 votes [15.79%] - View)

    Percentage of vote: 15.79%

  5. A & C (6 votes [10.53%] - View)

    Percentage of vote: 10.53%

  6. B & C (8 votes [14.04%] - View)

  7. A & B & C (18 votes [31.58%] - View)

Casual players who do not put hours into the game will usually get owned by those who practise more. That is a fact of life, irrespective of "perks" etc. People who consistemtly play together as an organised group will also have an advantage in a team game over a group that have never played together before.. This is down to the matchmaking system. If the game is fun to play and you don't get killed everytime then i would imagine that they have got it right.
Casual players (and I may be one of them) are being unrealistic if they think they can "compete" with people who put in massive ammounts of time without the game being "dumbed down" to the extent that most people won't want to play it.

I disagree... though of course without defining what we both mean by "casual player" it's hard to have a really good discussion of it.

Point being, practice does play off, but complexity in gameplay doesn't have to be a roadblock for a "casual" player, if the mechanics are clearly explained, and if they're arranged in such a way that they make it hard for people to exploit the system. IMO, the biggest killers for that are FotM "best gear" that requires continual grind, or mechanic exploits the "casual player" won't be able to counter.

What about option D, I have the target Selected. My Target Selection override crosshairs target and fix to that Range. Option E, we are given a manual setting on range from 100m to 1000m that I can increase or decrease as I want, just like setting your throttle. I'm sorry, yes these both don't have to do with "time" - but I would like to see those options available. I would assume improving your "time" should be an upgrade under the Pilot tree.
