Wow, that's a lot of hard and detailed work for something that we will gleefully destroy in a matter of minutes :)

Seriously though, thanks for bringing us that glimpse into what it takes to get just a single 'mech into the game. While I'm sure it won't stop the cries of "why don't we get new 'mechs every week", perhaps it will stem the tide a bit.

One question - in regards to the damage section of the article. I never see any of that stuff :) Is my computer not good enough to see it, or has it not been implemented yet? Whenever a mech dies or is shot, it looks the same as before - minus the obvious glowing.

The in-game founders Catapult looks a bit worse I think.

Thanks for putting this one up. Really educating and enjoyable (the cockpit looks so safe, like home).

Great read looking at the 3d have you guys thought about somewhere down the road selling models of the mechs in the game? I dont think it would be worth doing what figureprints does for war craft char and other games but a in game mech model with a base with the players tag on it might be interesting.....or maybe you could work with Figureprints.

This interview singlehandedly did for me what months of developer interviews and background concept sketches on the MWO site didn't. This showed the process, step by step, and took us through the intricacies and difficulties of bringing just one of these things to life.

Bravo, this makes my respect for the devs and my fascination with the game jump up a few notches.

I'd be interested in a book with the art development of the game based on what we've seen so far.

The amount of work you guys put into that PA Report article convinced me to buy a founders package- you guys are awesome and the work you're doing is something I'm honored to be able to support.

Will 'damaged components' like the ones shown be implemented in the game? So far it looks like parts just blow off; they don't get 'damaged.' But if they did, that'd be a great detail that would add a lot to the immersion.

Those comments were right; publish a coffee table book... and make T-shirts and pullovers(Hoodies...stupid name)... and baseball shirts with those house icons on them.
