Who else might like to pilot an oversized egg mech on the battlefield?
In the grand ole days I used to run a couple of these on the TT and had painted up some figures for these in different house colors.
I've never seen them represented in the vid games nor heard of them being on the unseen list. Though I pretty much figured they were so awkward looking that most people ignored them.

LOL I don't know, I've always gotten a laugh out of them..Maybe if they're half sized and fast..They'd need to shoot confetti and make silly honking noises..

The ReSeen Ost-Mechs are actually impressive to me. Considering the original Ostscout had no weapons, the 9CS was a nasty surprise on the field. The Ostroc-4L was a broad shouldered Cavalry Mech worth piloting, and the 6D Ostsol with it's targeting computer and Pulse lasers was scary.
Now the original art left me happy that they were no longer produced!

Most of the Ost* 'Mechs (the set being composed of the Ostscout, Ostroc, Ostroc Mk.II, Ostsol, and Ostwar) are indeed among "the Unseen", as the original designs are based heavily on the "Esbeliben Regult Tactical Battlepod" from Super Dimension Fortress Macross.
As for the Ostscout, the Spider (MWO's BattleMech 15) is just as fast, can jump just as far, carries twice the ranged firepower, and carries none of the legal issues from being Unseen.
The Champion would have all of the hardpoints necessary to carry the same loads as the primary configurations of the Ostroc, Ostroc Mk.II, and Ostsol and is not Unseen
The Ostwar (the only non-Unseen of the Ost* bunch) would not be timeline-appropriate; it became extinct during the Succession Wars and did not re-enter production until the Wob Jihad.
While it would be nice to have them (and the other Unseen), it is unknown if PGI will implement them.
(Though, there is MWO artwork for the technically-Unseen Leopard-class DropShip (based on the starship Minerva from Crusher Joe), so perhaps there is hope...?

I would love to pilot the original Ostroc. SRM4, 2LL, 2ML, ugly, and awesome!

The reseen Osts had not similarity with the old Osts besides the name. They were even uglier as well.. No reason to put them in the game.

Uh the champion is horribly stupid looking mech. I would like to see the ost series based off of Iron wind metals new models. Even if I dont think the resean mechs look that good to begin with.

I'm with Strum on this one. The Spider and the Champion look better than the Ost-series and fill the same role. I mean, say what you will about the classic-nes of them, but unlike the rest of the Unseen, they are ugly as hell.
If Piranha is going to spend time making the Unseen available I hope the Osts are some of the last 'mechs on the list--there are way more awesome 'mechs to be Re-seening first.

I will just have to agree to disagree. I find the new Osts a breath of fresh air! And the reason to put them in is that once the Jihad comes, that is how they came to be!
Mmmmm Ostwar!
