Hey guys
I'm new to this Mech stuff and i'm not sure if this has been covered already but, here goes anyways.
What do you think of the idea of air support?
I've only ever played Mechassault 2 and quite liked the idea of not only being able to pilot a Mech, but flying around in a VTOL that can carry ammo and repair creates to where its needed most.
As the VTOL is light and fast it can also be used as a scout, relaying Intel back to the commander or just simply hammering down some air fire.

I don't think you will be able to play as an aircraft or tank pilot, however, playing the roll of a commander it is possible I believe they may get an option to call in airstrikes or artillery reguarding to the whole information warfare and support stuff.

No...if you read the dev blogs and faqs, combined arms, i.e tanks and planes are not on the list as playable features yet, and won;t be for launch.

I hope there will be Npc ones to destroy because mechs aren't the only things used in battle

Yup. The only air support will be called in by command role mechs... and even that leaves a COD distaste in my mouth.

I would prefer it in MW over CoD. Think of this, it will attract attention to where the aircraft is providing support, and the aircraft can be shot down quite easily in a mech. For most medium and above they've mostly just been an annoyance in the MW series.

Thats because they haven't properly done before take the Thunderbird http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Thunderbird - that can give a medium mech quite a headache - don't forget they are going fast as well . That was the reason for the Rifleman and Jagermechs with their specialised sensors and targeting systems - they were intended as anti-air not for mech v mech combat.
