Greetings Mechwarriors, be you battle-scarred veterans or fresh out of the academy.

I'd like for the purpose of this thread to be "the compiling of any and all useful information and/or links to same, for the purpose of tutoring players old and new, regarding the Battletech Universe at large".

So I'll start us out with some of my personal favorites, and then if anyone else (I know there are some other long time table-top players out there for example) would like to add some, I'll edit them into the original post.

http://mwomercs.com/...e-universe-out/ - Synopsis of Battletech by Atlas3060.

http://bg.battletech.com/ - This link takes you to the Battletech homepage. This is where it all began.

https://www.battleco.../BC2/index.html - Home to some of the best fan-fiction and art in the game.

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Main_Page - Everything you want or need to know about Battletech is nicely compiled here.

http://www.solaris7.com/ - A fantastic community site with a lot of great resources for players and fans.

http://www.mektek.net/ - Another awesome community site, with free MW4 downloads and support.

http://megamek.info/ - A desktop port of the classic table-top game.

http://camospecs.com/ - Go here to check out paint and camo schemes used by all your favorite houses and merc units.

http://www.masterunitlist.info/ - The Official Master List of all canon Battlemechs and other units.

http://www.pryderock...ies/industries/ - Shows who constructs what mechs and where.

Cheers, and welcome to the Sphere!

*Edited to add more links. (Thank you to Atlas 3060, and all the others who suggested additional links :) ).

Oh hay, I recognize at least one of those. :)

Here's me saying hello to everyone from S7 who made their way here, aye? =P

Good idea! I would just add the MekTek community site. Not only is it an excellent place to find technical support for every Mechwarrior game since MW2, but it's the source of a great MW4 mod and home to a great bunch of people.

My only request is we should put the Battlecorps link in the list for folks who want to buy stories.
https://www.battleco.../BC2/index.html

Other than that this should also be pinned!

I'll second the pin request. Good idea about linking to BattleCorps Atlas, think we should link to Camospecs as well? It gives a pretty good idea of what the different schemes should look like.

It wouldn't hurt but my concern would be taking away from the video game aspect and making them think minis are very important. We see plenty of threads like that in the main Battletech forum where people ask which minis they need.

True, I was thinking more along the lines of additional resources to fully immerse a new player into the Universe. It's one thing to hear about the Lyran Guard's blue and white scheme but another all together to see it first hand.

Sounds good, plus if we do get to customize things like paint schemes maybe we'll see lances looking alike :)

Thanks for the help and suggestions guys! Appreciate it, and it's that very type of thing that's always made me love the BT community.

As for my edit, not sure what went wrong with the odd spacing, but when I try to edit to fix it, it shows it as being correct, then when it gets saved, boom, wonkier than a WoB wedding singer.

*Edited because, well, nevermind, I fixed it.

For those who want to take a little trip down MPBT Solaris Memory Lane:

For being 10 years old, this website holds up incredibly well. Huggybear was the man.

Also, any new players with questions on any of the above, or just in general, please feel free to ask. We promise, the veterans can't/wont bite... :)
