For you, probably not, for the rest of us, if it's within a reasonable framework of a sustainable microtransaction model, then yes.
Because we're flexible, we have hope and we are working toward making it a better game, not using our first post to cry and complain that it's going to be a waste of time.
Because we take the time to repaint mechs, talk to the devs, create a very nice podcast, internet radio station, and constantly defend the forums from posts like this.
We fight the good fight against P2W in any form, we badger and pester and speculate on every word the devs say, we offer constructive criticism and crazy off the wall conjucture and wishlists, because in there somewhere a nugget of gold may reside.
We are building a community here, you're welcome to join it and give it a shot, or you're welcome to go play Amored Core 5 when it comes out and cry that you wish the game was more immersive.

I'm not sure why OP is listing things such as social media, computer brands, and mobile device games, but I feel like he/she needs to take a chill pill.
I'm not sure why everyone is so afraid of this game. While we've been given little information, it would seem that Piranha has put more effort into this game than any previous MechWarrior game. Instead of reacting to the f2p so viciously as you have to what seems like every modern and popular thing, maybe look into it a bit and begin to understand its merits. And of course, if you're still afraid, you can always voice your concern within the community in a structured, persuasive manner. Otherwise, it's just another person saying "I don't like it". The developers thus far have been very responsive on top of knowing their target market extremely well. The devs are PART of the target market.
Also, quick reality check:
Apple products have merit. Also, brand name and goodwill is part of everyday life.
Games like angry birds are as old as the internet.
Call of Duty also has merit. Things that you don't personally like are not automatically bad.
