I've only added them to the center pedestal and the joystick ...

I thought there were too many shadows there for just a texture! Nice work, like I say, I can't wait to see the finished thing. Also, nice wires! I can't see any wasted faces. Im assuming blender is rendering funny, but there seem to be a few 5+ sided faces though - on the side of the seat and the top-most window frame ... ? My eyes aren't fantastic though. Beautiful model regardless.

Blender doesn't always render edges if faces are totally co-planar.

That said, there are a few 5+ sided polygons in the model, because Blender supports them natively as of the latest version, so there's no reason to break them up. They should get tessellated into triangles if the model is exported to another format.

Sorry, no. Not even the Clans have "direct" neurohelmet control. They experimented with the direct interface tattoo stuff, but it drove the pilots insane and they stopped development. In any case that was nearly 100 years after the Timbie came along, so real buttons it is.

I thought the clans did always use direct neurohelmets and as you said it drove them crazy. That was why they constantly kept twicking with genetics to create the ultimate warrior who could withstand the helmet along all other traits..Of course this tech is developing and didn't show up from the start..As for the tattoo things, from my point of view they represent the input to the head just as a serial port in a pc or a patch in the chest for an ecg..I am just commenting to see other opinions on this side of tech ..

You are doing an awesome job..

Started work on the left-hand control panel, which will contain the controls for the comm systems and a few operations controls.

Just to let everyone know: no, I haven't abandoned this project. I've just been doing other things.

I've been doing a bit more work on the model, but it's all UVW wrapping work, so there isn't anything to show off. More renders will follow once I complete more of the texture bitmaps.

Awesome job! can't wait to see more. I do have point to make from an ergonomic stand point, the pilot is going to smash all them switches and dials off the controls under his left arm. Maybe put them even lower or further left.
