@Adridos: Why? It is so....ugly.
@Kodiak: I use Evergreen sheet styrene. For the main body I use 0.5 mm thickness...then varying thicknesses for armor shapes. If I feel the shapes do not have enought structural integrity, I will back fill with resin to make them more solid.
@Cooper: Thanks bro...you keep raising the bar and I will keep shooting for it!
cheers, thanks for the info. loving the final build keep it up

2. Do you create molds from the original models?
3. Are you planning on making another model after finishing this one? If so, which 'mech do you want to try?

1. I am not sure sculpt is the right word. I use sheet plastic, some sculpting putty, and various greeblies either purchased our scavanged.
2. Sometimes I mold the original. My mold making skills really stink so I only get very general castings...nothing high quality.
3. Yes, I am planning on making another. Currently I have the following done and either painted or in primer: Atlas, Summoner, Thanatos, Argus, Zeus, Annihilator, Mauler, Uller, Ryoken, Hollander, Panther, Puma, Hunchback and Cougar. I still have a Vulture, Griffin, Shadow Hawk, and Wolverine in kit form to build.
Too many subjects, not enough time.

As for effectivenes in battle, its true a 20 ton mount doesnt pack much punch, And it would be my personal choice in a cockpit view game like this or mechwarrior living legends.
But on the table top and on a ton for ton basis 5 locusts or fleas, could using the right tactics tie up an Atlas, and eventually take it down.
You need to exploit the speed advantage to stay in the rear, and nibble it to death over time

I used to run with nothing under middle weight, and much to my shame, have lost more Highlanders and Atlas 'mechs than I care to recount to through-armor crits from, usually, Locusts.
I can't say I've ever actually used a Flea in combat, as I always end up playing against friends who tend to grab as many heavy mechs piloted by low-skill pilots as they can, but I would love to see one wreak havoc in an infantry or light armor match.

I am one of those VETS, I am a Flea pilot from the day it came out. 4mgs and dancing in the enemies 6:00 is the best! I so miss doing that, I really hope the Flea make a return.
