I don't know about y'all but it seems crystal clear to me that the delay in releasing new mechs indicates that the remaining mechs due out at release time are all unseens mechs.

So I'm betting

16 Battlemaster
17 Marauder
18 Shadow Hawk
19 Valkyrie
20 Warhammer

You forgot my damn Phoenix Hawk!

We need a jumping assault. I'd love to see the Highlander, but I'll settle for a Victor.
We could use an assault ballistic boat. So, even though I hate it with ever fiber of my being, a Mauler would be ok, too.

Armament

With a top speed of 64.8 km/h and a jumping distance of up to one hundred and twenty meters, the Enforcer is a very mobile 'Mech and an ideal city fighter. For protection, the Enforcer has nine tons of Starshield Armor, weaker than average along the back to enhance frontal coverage.[2]
The Enforcer's primary weapon is a Federated Autocannon/10 complemented by a ChisComp 43 Large Laser, both give the Enforcer respectable intermediate range firepower, though only a single ton of autocannon reloads is carried. Finally, to round out the design, the Enforcer carries a ChisComp 32 Small Laser for close range combat.[5]
[edit] Variants
  • ENF-5D - First walking off the production line in late 3050, the 5D Enforcer is a major upgrade to the standard 'Mech. The Fusion Engine has been removed and replaced with a Magna Extralight Engine that also increases the Enforcer's top speed to 86.4 km/h. The armor has been stripped from the 'Mech and replaced with StarGuard CIV Ferro-Fibrous armor with CASE to protect against an ammunition explosion. The weapons payload has also been changed. The Autocannon/10 and the Large Laser have both been removed. In their place, a new Mydron Excel LB-X Autocannon/10 and a BlazeFire Sweetshot ER Large Laser have been installed. Finally, the jumping distance has been increased by 30 meters to keep up with the Enforcer's new speed profile. BV (1.0) = 1,093[3], BV (2.0)= 1,308 [6]
Custom Variants
  • ENF-4R Enforcer Daniel - The personal 'Mech of Fox's Teeth member Daniel Waylen, after his unit was selected to receive among the first experimental weapons developed from the Helm Memory Core by the New Avalon Institute of Science in the lead-up to the War of 3039, his Enforcer was chosen as the test bed for an experimental NAIS Mk. I Gauss Rifle prototype. To free up the mass required for this weapon and two tons of reloads, the NAIS engineers adopted the laser armament from the original design, mounting a pair of ChisComp 39 Medium Lasers in the left arm in place of the large laser. [8]

My vote is for the Highlander or the Victor. Oh, and Mason, mech 16 has just been released... it's the Flea. :P

We're due for another medium now as we know the unmentioned mech is the Highlander. 9The Flea is really #17)
So for 18 I suggest the Vindicator or Blackjack.

We KNOW the Highalnder will be in the game now.

The Enforcer would be a bland addition to the 50 ton group. It brings jets, but it's essentially more of the same in terms of fighting style, no thanks for now.

I'm still holding out for a Battlemaster but since there are no ballistic assaults I'm thinking probably something similar to the King Crab.

I wouldn't be surprised if they start announcing Clan mechs soon™. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if they don't either.

If the next mech is a medium, it's going to be one of these designs.

If it's an assault 'mech we know the next reveal is going to be the Highlander unless that leak is a huge hoax (and the best I've seen.)

Still leaves one assault mech to catch up to the 5 mechs that the lights have (other weights need one per as well,) assuming they'll have even number of mechs per weight.

So.....16 was a Flea....*scratch....scratch* yea this bits me.
I think now all could happen, maybe even this non canon fubar Highlander rumors are true...who knows.
Even if this screws canon from behind. Remember Highlander not seen in inner sphere for about 200 years. Only army using it Comguards, Comguards Army unveiled shortly before Tukayyid.
And now they showed us they could do everything and we are prepared for nothing.
You devs realy realy know how to troll one real hard. On the other side Flea is canon for the timeline.
Maybe they remind us on this very thing. " Hey guys there are still some Mechs we've got in backhand and they all will be canon Battletech Mechs"
Think this Highlander is just something pulled out of context. Maybe from the PC Gamer but nothing to be implemented in short time.

My Guess:

Battlemech 17 10/10/12 - Highlander (Image from PC Gamer edition) just makes too much sense given the dates 2 weeks out to the day.
Battlemech 18 10/24/12 - Dervish or Gladiator to fill the 55 ton medium weight gap
Battlemech 19 11/07/12 - Black Knight or Orion to fill the 75 ton heavy weight gap
Battlemech 20 11/21/12 - Nightstar or Banshee to fill the 95 ton assault weight gap (after the assumed highlander)
Battlemech 21 ??/??/?? - A new light of some kind

The ones in bold are what I think the devs will go with. The dervish seems more common place then the Gladiator which if I am not mistken is outdated at this time period. The Orion seems a more balanced mech compared to the Black Knight but I am just doing a toss up. It's really more like 50-50. I believe the developers will go with the Nightstar because the Banshee is more or less a slightly weaker less heavy Atlas.

Assuming their are 5 mechs per class...

Medium
Bushwacker (55 tons)

Heavy
Orion (75 tons)

Assault
Highlander (90 tons)
Mauler (90 tons)

I don't think we're going to see this one for at least four years minimum, guy. :P
I love the Bushy, too.
