Many a game allows the user to purchase items that are purely for decoration. These items have no affect on performance what so ever. They typically include things like hats.

But hats are SOO 2002. I suggest socks. Giant argyle, kitten embroidered knit travesties, or for our over the hill crowd tall black socks with guarders.

I resent this post. I have to wear garter belts to hold my shirt to socks on dress uniform days but I'm not over the hill. I still got 2 clicks. I want a "Texas" mech belt buckle.

Edit- I made a few grammer errors. I say it's the beer not the education system in America.

Waffles, that's ridiculous. Objects that have no effect on the gameplay shouldn't be in the game.

However, I like the socks idea.

Arch support socks: increase speed (through better balance)
Wool socks: make mech quiter, and therefore harder to detect.
Wooden socks: silly for people, perfect for mechs! Slide around the streets of the city you're blowing up!
Argyle socks: temporarily blind any mech unfortunate enough to see them
Socks with whales on them: clearly, the best socks ever.
Toe socks: make it possible to wear socks AND mech flip-flops.

The dev's have said that any items you buy with real money have no tactical value, meaning the majority of items will not affect gameplay.

I submit that any mech with socks on is a legitimate target for a legging.

I second the socks notion! Mech feet need warmth too!

Bah. Keep your socks, flip-flops, and belt-buckles.

Clearly, scarves are where it's at. Anyone able to knit me a 100' Dr. Who scarf for my 'mech?

Pf, what are you going to do with your scarf? Necks are out of style.

Screw socks. Give me 1/16 scale models or model kits of the Battlemechs like EVE Online does of their space ships! Make it happen Paul!

Does that mean we can also sock any 'mech with leggings?
