Hi all,

I have been testing alot of control settups in MW4M and wow... what a pain in the tush.

It would be great if I could save each setup to a file so I could load them later after testing.
... would be cool to be able to bring my favorite setup over a friends house when we play also.

any thoughts?

Most online control's or settings are saved via cookies on your computer (much like websites saving your name or password). That is why when people play a game on the same computer both save the same graphics settings, hotkeys, add-ons etc etc. Single Player games allow multiple saves because it creates a save file to the profile in the games folder on your hard drive. So really, the only way to get your settings saved, is to bring your computer to your friends house. :D

Umm, not exactly true. City of Heroes, for example, allows you to save all of your profile settings to a file so you can actually take it to another machine and load the file up there. That includes custom control layouts, macros, and hotkeys. I'm not sure if any other MMOs do that; I haven't tried it in DDO, STO, LOTRO, or WoW. (And yes, I know there are lots of other MMOs, I just haven't played them.)

Saving setups? I am more worried by the fact that i don't know anything about the control system, and i already have a huge setup with different peripherals, so i need to know if i'm going to be able to use them all...

I haven't played City of Heroes, so I wasn't completely sure on one side or the other, however I did leave a little bit of room by saying "most" mmo's :D Regardless, if the dev's do decide to do an online save file then that is one thing many of us do not have to worry about and will make things a little easier, on a flip side note: if your going to someones house to play, I atleast hope they have 2 gaming setups to play on otherwise that is just wierd haha
