Why doesn't anyone ever go for leg shots? All I ever see people aiming at are torsos and arms. Take out the legs, prone the mech, and stomp him into the ground.

how do you stomp a prone mech if you can't lift your leg high enough to clear it? the most you'll do is either trip over the mech or walk on top of it and do fairly little damage that way.

people still think mechs are melee machines, it's incredible. can you image a tank charging another tank like cavalry? of course not, they have guns for that. why would anyone want to get within range of something that can shoot their cockpit open?

A: Respawn

(we, as players, can do it; Mech Pilots can't)

The russians did this in WW2 when fighting aginst the Tiger and King Tiger with the T-34 and T-34-85 tanks.

So yea, I can imagine a tank charging and ramming another tank.

but got to take in the fact the russian tanks then was low on ammo and if they gave up would be exicuted for cowardace and did what they thought would help them escape the doomed fate 1 way or another

Also, charging damage was in the 1st ed rules also, "stomp them in the ground" is really more of a metaphor.
