3D printing is becoming more and more affordable for the average person. I would guess to say that in the next few years, 3D home printing will be quite popular/common for smaller objects (http://www.ubergizmo...le-3d-printing/)
Google 3D printers.
I would like to be able to print up the 3D models of the various MWO Mechs. I like the updated designs and by printing them in the correct scale, I could paint and utilize them on the Classic Battletech board game.
Is it possible to obtain the 3D models, or will the devs make them available, for 3D printing?
Crazy or unrealistic, huh?

Yea, im on to this thread as well; a decent home 3d printer can be got for around 1000 dollars that runs on ABS 1.75mm plastic rolls.
Unfortunatly 3d models are expensive assets of a game and can usually not be given out to others on a whim, not to mention you would most likely need to convert them to a .sfl file commonly used by cad software (and most 3d printer software on the market).
Better off just learning to 3d model bro, if 3d printing does become a common thing, it will be a standard skill to know (Until 3d scanners are popular).

I would imagine if they did, they would not give the models to anyone- they would offer the 3D printed models themselves (via a 3rd party 3D print shop) so PGI gets a cut for each model sold.
