While I am not absolutly opposed to stats, they can be useful. One thing is sounding the alarm....Elitism, this is a curse on any MMO, and statistics will be a way for elitists to prevent anyone not meeting their supposed stat requirements, from having a fair go.

I wouldn't mind a "comment" section where you can leave feedback, even if it's locked only to your team. It'd definitely help identify problem characters and griefers right off.

And players who annoy people by... you know... beating them.

How about team stats , you know how well a player helps his team ?

or is how well your team does not as important?

I'm reviveing this thread instead of starting a new one about stats.
I was just thinking that with all the suiciders that are jumping in and out of games it might be nice to start tracking a few stats.
I'm thinking:
Win/loss for individuals. That at least might shame some of the suiciders into actually playing a match. I also think that if that stat where to get really high or low it could effect the base amount of money you get for a win/loss. If you are really low, maybe 10% win to loss you get lower base pay for a loss. If you are really high 90% or better then you get an additional bonus for a win. both would be incentives to play better.
The individual win loss should show up on the closing stat screen. That way it is viewable to everyone. But it doesn't bias someone in game.

Also self kills should be tracked and added to the loss percentage regardless of team win or loss.
Team kills should be done the same way.
Those who start a match and then disconnect. same.
These stats don't need to be visible to the public, but they should have an effect on the pilot's record. These stats sould be displayed on the home screen for pilots to see.
