I was curious to know if anyone knows why are you not given an option to be Federation Commonwealth? At the time the game starts, both Steiner and Davion are merged and were not operating under seperate command until the Fed Com Civil War. Is it because the creators have plans to include the Fed Com Civil War and do not want complications from players now? Or did they just not do enough research into the universe?

i believe it isnt that there is no fed com on contrary it is just asking what if any is the side of fed com you support for when they implement the civil war in if you look closely at the hous factions page it says 1half of the federated commonwealth under the stiener and davion house info

FEDCOM doesn't exist until 3055, and it's 3049 right now. The two houses are pretty much on the same page, but it's going to be some time before the Alliance happens.

on a side note the houses are and always will be separate but with a new house of inter married called Steiner-Davion that is meant to show unity but we all know is just to hide the inner turmoil of fed com in the public eye and culminates to a brother and sister fighting for control in a massive civil war witch splits fed com back to the original House Steiner and House Davion

I see, I just did some research and I did not realize the "Federation Commonwealth" was that young before it collapsed into itself but now that brought it up, I wonder if the Fed Com Civil War will play and role other than players wanting to keep the canon alive.

i think on a grander scale the civil war with fed com was infarct very very good business for the merc corps as when the civil war happened most battles was a hired merc corp against one of the house regiments at least in the books dating the fed com civil war as most house vs house battles was problematic as friend fought his old friend lots of desertions occurred therefore it was better to just take contracts out on locations than send in your regulars only key spots ever saw Davion and Steiner units go head to head

Hey, Mercenaries played a critical role because military division would splinter in themselves over what side to take, it wasn't until Victory returned from the Clan that he could actually organized an army to fight his sister and on top of that, half of his forces were mercenaries.

Indeed, Fedcom Accords have been signed in 3020.

indeed 3020 is the start of the Fed Com but its not officially named until the accession of Archon-Prince Victor Steiner-Davion in 3055formally brought the nation into being, but the alliance was well established up to this point from the initial signing of the Fedcom Accords in 3020

There are enough "pure" Steiner to follow... Adam Steiner for example
Or Ryan Steiner ..not at least because of my strong relationship with Skye

Victory has always been the offical leader ever since he took the thorn. HIs sister has able to turn the Steiner population against him which is why she was able to take control so fast however majority of the Steiner-Davion family and the leaders of the worlds made up of the Fed Com where on his side. Steiner was able to dominate so quickly by destroying world that declared themselves Davion as well and Katherine moving Davion loyal units away from major hot zones before the actual civil war kicked off. So when Victor came back, he technically came back to a nation without an army which is why he was forced to use mercenaries in majority of battles he personally took command in.

the civil war was also a big opertunity for other factions as well. the swept in and took assets as well the clans did the same so long story short yes a civil war can reach beyond its borders lol

Yeah, that always happens when major nations fall into a civil war. I am more curious to know how this will play a role in this game later in time.

It would be nice however if they forced Davion and Steiner into the same faction like the Fed Com and then when the civil war breaks out, the players can choose what side to take. That would be awesome to see people divided and units being split apart.

When is a civl war ever ideal? If they are going to follow MechWarrior from 3049 then I demand to see that unless they are stating they are Retconning the story.
