Purchased a 3D printer last month to be able to make some mechs for my son and some unit mates. Thought I'd share what I've been able to do so far.

What type of printer are you using? These look cleaner than most :)

I bought the Prusa I3 MK2. The prints are very clean. The only rough spots are on the underside of certain parts that required extensive support structure, but I have positioned most of them, when printing, to minimize this. Even the supported areas were pretty easily sanded and cleaned up with a little putty and fine grit sandpaper. I've been very pleased with the printer and the quality and detail I am getting. Incidentally, the atlas above is made to scale to the marauder model. The atlas will be 11.85" tall when assembled.

So the pics are post cleanup? I had a feeling they looked a bit too good to be true Posted Image Still, that's a pretty solid result for the cost of the printer. That's for sure!

No, the marauder, in some of the pictures, is primed for painting. The Atlas hasn't been touched, that is how it came off the printer, minus the support structure.
