That was a very nice read. I hope to God that you recorded it to show us.

I hope a re-play feature will be included in the final production, it makes those epic battles all the more epic when you can re-live them.

yes, that would be totally awesome. and perhaps an idea: jsut ak after the match, if you want to save the repleay. that way you don't wate HDD-space on meaningless matches and just keep the good ones (or matches you need for proving something, bugs etc.). as an idea, have the result-screen of the match have two buttons: 1) close 2) close and save replay

Im just wondering how this guy has a gauss rifle on his mech if they are not in the clan era of the battletech univers. Just saying.

IIRC Gauss-rifles were among the tech, the Helms Core brougth back to the IS. the IS had acess toStar League teh in 3049, but it was only ver limited, e.g. not all field units were instantly upgraded to level-2-tech.

edit: just looked up at Sarna:
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Gauss_Rifle
Gauß was "renitroduced" in 3040, so enough time to spread across the IS. IMHO it is a much better weapon the AC20. far greater range and only sligthly lower damage.

@topic: wow. what a very nice match to read! making me even more wanting to play the game. at first a thought: what? he needed the lasers for decapitating the Atlas in the end, but then the fact with the armour-doubling sprang to my mind again. and you were lucky you hit with the Gauß. it has a minimum range of 60 meters, which should make point blank range shots quite difficult.

anyway: how is minimum range dealt with in MWO? the LRMs were covered in this article to harmlessly bounce off at close range. but what about Gauß and PPC? or does the big bad NDA kick in at this point? ;)

This reads more like one of those 'Dear Adult Magazine' articles than what could reasonably be expected from the game. I have a hard time believing any single pilot could get 8 kills in a single drop on an average day in the world of BattleTech, unless mechs are built really shoddily in MWO. And judging by released media footage, they aren't. If a single player is able to kill eight other players in an 'average' match, then this game doesn't seem that realistic in the BattleTech universe. It doesn't portray a 'team' effort. It portrays two mechs essentially taking on 8 others and winning -- in an 'average' day.

And I find that a hard pill to swallow.

"The coward believes he will live forever
If he holds back in the battle,
But in old age he shall have no peace
Though spears have spared his limbs.

Cattle die, kindred die,Every man is mortal:
But the good name never dies
Of one who has done well.

Cattle die, kindred die,
Every man is mortal:
But I know one thing that never dies,
The glory of the great dead."

Someone asked yesterday what comp specs you guys use.

I was wondering as well. I am not sure what it is but I it looks like you guys have more detail on the pictures you provide. I get something close enough to this but sometimes it looks a little blurry/hazzy. Not that bad. I am wondering if I have my nVidia settings set wrong I dunno but here is what i am running.

AMD FX 8150 x8 core processor
ASRock Fatal1ty Professional 990FX
2 EVGA GTX 670 total of 8 gigs of video ram
16 Gigs of DD3 1333 mhz ram.

I mean if that is not enough to flawlessly run this game then I dont know what is. Any help as far as settings which I have mine maxed out. Please let me know!

Jenners I have always loved I'll be leveling one up.

Just bought Legendary I finally had too but apparently not active yet.

SIlly story, I once actually killed a dragon in a raid in WOW one time with a 5 point DOT once on my warlock, were the points that killed it people were laughing the **** out of that one awhile. Was the final points that killed that sucker, hehe.
