Hi guys, I haven't used this forum since like 5 or 6 months ago. Would anyone be willing to update me on what's going on? I just signed up for beta status... is the game up and running? <_<

I'm sorry if you think I'm too lazy to read the update but I'm doing surgery rotation in medical school at the moment so it'd be awesome if someone could answer all the important things here.

Thanks!

edit: btw im a huge fan of battletech franchise. i read craploads of books and loved mw3 and 4 back in old days XD

The game is currently in closed beta, open beta will start around 'end of summer'. With the NDA still on, that's the only thing we know so far.

There may have been a few new pieces of art, and plenty of videos released since you last visited, so check out the 'Media' section if you haven't already.

Some dev news, but not a whole lot, IIRC. Some interesting ' average day in beta ' stories released in the news feed that you may wanna give a read also, should you find the time.

Game is indeed in closed beta - founders packages are available for purchase which not only get you into the beta, but more so than anything else, are a bit of a community kick-starter for the game. If you want to give back to the devs who are bringing back MechWarrior after its decade long hiatus (and are doing a heck of a job at it!) then its something you might want to consider =). Anything else you might wanna know is available via forum announcements and video reveals in the media section of the website.

It's a beta. One assumes the core of teh game is already there and it's fun, but there are still bugs and missing features. If you don't mind, go ahead and buy a founder and play with them. Just report the bugs you see so they'll get fixed once the game launches.

all players can choose any mech to play with
the elite and legendary get special "founders" mechs
Founder mech = special paint job + bonus money making when used.
you can upgrade your founders package at any time if you want.

go to the beta forums for anything actually game related, you are not allowed to talk about ingame stuff in the non-beta forums
