the who, never heard of it.

B)

As for the MACKIE, it wasnt exactly a common mech even in the board game at the time of 3025 going beta.

One of the better-looking Vindicator models I've seen.

That Stalker lurks in my nightmares, waiting for the chance to eat my face.

I use to have those models. Unfortunately I lost them years ago with a hard drive crash.

I really hope "devasting" and "Mackie" in the same sentence was you being sarcastic. Only thing Mackie devestated was a waste of weight it did not use and poor design. It had roughly the same armament as a Warhammer, slower and at 100 tons.

The Mackie was supposed to be the very first BattleMech. With prototype armor that was impervious to weapons at the time it was built and advanced weaponry. It's first test run was a devastating show of force against conventional units that even when it took direct fire from tanks, it just shrugged off the hits with little damage.

Thanks for sharing these, I was never able to get my hands on the MPBTO game but I love the designs. Does anyone know if there is a copy of the game floating out there that can be installed for private use only?

Fraid not, it requires a host server to connect to, and as far as I'm aware, there was never any release of the source code to enable a public funded version.

IS3028 attempted to clone/create their own version, but as it was too much for the then staff working on it, it eventually died (don't even know if the old IS3028 forums are alive or not, Hana might know more).

EA took that one to its figurative grave when they closed it down.

The website for IS3028 was shut down a number of years ago. The project itself was pretty much in stasis for a few years before that. Not for lack of interest, but there was a lot of "Real Life" stuff going on for the lot of us who were involved.

Some of our efforts do survive at BattleTech Simulator which was coded by Derk Adams. Demo 14 is the more functional version, with Demo 15 being a reworking that's since stalled in development.

WOW I LOVE seeing those models! Thanks for sharing those out, it's been a LONG time. I got my hands on the old Manual document for that game not too long ago. I've got several drive backups with the installed files on it but as mentioned, nobody could ever get the server side running again.

So tell the truth, how many drops did you guys make in Ravens Only lances... it seemed like a million. Saved up and got the Hunchback 4J with the LRM's and the medium lasers JUST in time to have it shut down.

Step 1) Hit full speed
Step 2) Prime the lead mech
Step 3) Figure out who was the better shot/pilot and repeat

I'd STILL play that game today, and one of the only games I ever even THOUGHT about working into our household monthly budget.

This is MPBT3025 game from way back in 2000. The models were made to look like the original BT look, which is why they look the way they did. The game was also the awesome Stock Mode, so just stock Mechs fighting each other. They did community warfare before MWO even existed and F2P didn't exist. So good.
