I spent some years in Germany, and the most frustrating part was trying to use German to talk to the locals and they all wanted to speak English so they'd improve their language skills. WHAT ABOUT MY NEEDS, ALICE???

Laptop is right, but it's actually the middle of the night over here, besides I don't really like coffe, so your story is flawed!

We had an exchange student for a year, back in school. he was trying hard to learn german, but everyone would always only talk english with him. that said, he didn't learn as much as he could have, I tried to tell people that he probably came here to learn german but they didn't care...
I mean; wanna learn a foreign language? Get the **** out of your home country! Great Britain isn't even that far away...
I suppose most people are just scared noone would understand them over there lol

LoL, the same thing happened to me while living in Helsinki, all the Finns would want to speak English and my Finnish went no where.
