Greetings all,
I'm working my way through the novels and apparently missed something in "Patriots and Tyrants" by Loren L. Coleman.

In Chapter 30, on October 9th 3063 above Coventry, the LAS Arthur Steiner-Davion (Formerly Angela Franks) is hunting an IR signature of an incoming jump-ship assuming its Victor's fleet. The signature is so massive that they've never seen anything like it and it doesnt align with any other ship in the computers. They start to plot coordinates to jump out, and then nothing...

From what I can tell, that ship is never mentioned again.

Sarna says it was destroyed by the Blakist's WoBS Immortal Spirit in 3065, a full two years later!?

Also according to Sarna, the Immortal Spirit apparently was a ship running black-ops missions throughout the 3060's before being destroyed by the Jade Falcons (year unlisted). Coventry is close enough to the Jade Falcons that it makes sense that it was in the area, assuming it gets captured about the same time it took out the Arthur Steiner-Davion. Strangely though, the Immortal Spirit lives on as apparently, it was being repaired by a Newgrange-class yardship which Devlin Stone snagged in 3074.

Does anyone have a better grasp on this situation or was it mentioned in an obscure TRO supplement/Jihad news bulletin? Or should I just assume its a ghost ship that jumped out to a planet filled with DEST Commandos and birds that evolved from Locust Mechs? My Google skills aren't quite good enough to solve this mystery...

If you go to the Classic Battletech website I bet you could find an answer there on those boards.

Honestly what I was going to suggest. If you really want to know the main BT website forums is the best bet. I mean if anything you could have a writer answer.

This topic has been the discussion of many for a long time. One of the answers given was that it was destroyed by WoBS Immortal Spirit in 3065. The tidbits that suggest that is are that A WoB precentor passes intel to the CO of the Prince's men in one of Coleman's FCCW books, and a Blakist comment in one of the Jihad books says something along the lines of "Did we back the wrong sibling in the war?"

Hope that helps
