So did anyone else beta test the game they had back in 2001, the one that got cancelled by EA/Microsoft?

So will it be like that game? because that was the MOST fun online game i seriously have ever encountered. Now this is from a guy who has beta tested every major mmo period ever, including Battletech 3025 in closed beta.

BTW I'm am soooo happy right now, I don't even know what to do with myself.

Heheh. Does being a GEnie player of the original Mechwarrior Online count?

I can remember the Kesmai version fondly, since it was a direct port of the MW1 code- jump jet bug included.

Yep, I was there on GEnie Wanderer. Paying $3 an hour to play. Around '94-'95

I remember even flying to Greensboro for "Skippy-Con" to see the new version being rolled out.

Uncle Skippy and a few of the guys where there.

I think TBC (The Blo ody Clans) are still around.

Some of us have waited a long, long time to see a proper Battletech online game come to life once again. The herp-a-derp of MW4 just doesn't feel right. Hopefully this will.

I have to agree, EGA was one of my all time favorite online games. Hope this can compare.

I missed 3025 by a week: I was in the beta, installed the game, and my video card wasn't good enough; I had to save up for a new one, and by the time I had the money and ordered it, things were already winding down: the card arrived in the mail a week too late.

I got to play a couple times on my friend's PC.

Solaris & 3025 here. Hoping this game will have a similar territory capture style gameplay - still think that was one of the best ideas that never caught on!

Yeah, 2001 is for newcomers. MPBT on GEnie in 1991 is where it is at.

Next year on Tharkad.

Agent,
TBC
winner of the 2nd annual Solaris tournament, 1992.

I did, but I joined near the end. Fun stuff. It's nice to see games like World of Tanks picking up on the ideas from MPBT:3025 today.

2001? Has it been that long? Sheesh.

House Davion, callsign Deacon. I'll be damned (can I say that here?) if I can remember the name of the clan I was in. Good times, though. Good times.
