I was just curious on how many current or former military are involved with the BattleTech universe?
If so thanks for the military service!

There are many of us who fomerly served or currently serve that are BT fans. You are welcome but serving doesnt make us special. I know several guys who wanted to serve but couldnt because of physical limitations. I think they are braver still.

6 years in the U.S. Air Force. :)

Some of my best Battletech buddies were from RAF Alconbury (1994-1995)! ;)
I met the Clans for the first time there...

qft. I was given a "Med Board 2000" exit from the Army in '93 for slight allergy to tomatoes. I now work in a pizza place. I can only imagine how others will suffer under Obama's manufactured "post war draw down" only to be called back in media res to go back to the same places in a few years.

I was hoping to get into tactical airlift on C-130J's someday with the airforce! Not this airforce, but the RCAF (pretty close, right?). I would be a fighter pilot but you need 20/20 vision or better unfortunately ;). No F-35A's for me.

JROTC in High School, 4 years service after graduation. USAF 1996-2000. The military life wasn't really for me (also an Army Brat).

After 2002 I became very afraid of the term "Stop-Loss."

That sucks. Actually I have severe allergies to dairy and other issues that would have certainly disqualified me from serving but I simply lied to get in and just lived like a monk the whole time eatting only certain things. It wasnt easy but neither are the armed services in general.
